We've got some young ordsprog

We've got some young guys who have worked hard who need to step up. It's time. We've got a good group of sophomores, and going to find out on Friday if they have (stepped up).

Basically, it's the group of guys that I'm around. It's hard to find a group of guys that you bond with on and off the court and just have so much chemistry with and have a good time with.

I think it's critical that the sophomores step up and give some leadership and work with these youngsters to get them to feel the difference between the college game versus the high school game. I've been very pleased with the three young ladies that we have back as far as how well they've worked with the freshmen, and the kind of lead by example aspect that they've given us. Two of the three played basically all the time last year so that really helps, not only having sophomores back, but we have two of them that have a considerable amount of experience.

We call them our 'super sophomores' because they have worked so hard together, and it's paying off. They are a great group of girls to work with and if they keep swimming like this, Green Mountain will be good for a while.

We've got several seniors that have been together since the ninth grade and they've worked hard for this season. We had to count on several of these guys as sophomores. They had to grow up fast (as sophomores) and they've continued to improve during the past two seasons. Our success will hinge on them.

I'm real proud of this group of seniors. They're very dedicated and they've worked very hard. I wish the ending could have been better for them. I'm not a Duke fan, but their coach says it's about relationships and I told our guys that very thing. There are some bonds there that go beyond the court. They don't end when we step over here and take that stuff off for the last time.

We've just got some sophomores playing that need to step up and not be sophomores any more. But our kids played extremely hard and did a lot of good things. I'm not upset with this loss.

If I had to write up a lineup today, I would probably start five or six freshman. We're so young that some of those young guys are going to have to step up. It's kind of interesting. Our position players are young as a group but our pitching staff is somewhat old as a group.

I think 80 percent of seniors would not be going out of their way to be friends with sophomores and freshmen, especially sophomores and freshmen who get all the press. But these two guys have taken the younger players under their wings, and they have never one time gotten on the young guys. They deserve so much credit.

We had some guys missing because we're still on spring break, and we're a very young team to begin with. It came as a surprise to me we ended up winning the meet. We have something like eight sophomores and two freshmen. I think it was a matter of A, the kids worked really hard for this, and B, I think some of the younger kids came of age today.

I'm very proud of how far the kids have come. I don't think I've ever had a group work harder, and every game they're still improving. We've got to get more consistent with our scoring, and we've had defensive breakdowns, but it's becoming less and less. ... Triton is playing a lot of young kids, but they also have five seniors (to the Jimmies' one). Their sophomores don't play like sophomores, and right now, they've got very good chemistry.

On paper, sure, we should win Friday. But we still have to go down there, come out with emotion and execute. This group has played outstanding basketball for the duration of the season. I don't think a lot of people saw us being in this position at this juncture. But they've worked hard and believed in themselves, and Friday they have a chance to go out and get themselves some hardware.

Our guys have improved steadily the whole year. This is a nice reward for our guys. It's hard to get up here. We've had a lot of guys that have worked hard and didn't get here. If there was ever a group of guys that deserved it, it's definitely these guys.

I like to have a group of five or six guys as my leadership group. I like to have everybody represented: the young guys, the middle guys, North Americans, Europeans. A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. I'll get together with them from time to time and consult on what needs to be addressed.

We have a really good group of guys - we really do - and it's time for some of them to step up and help out. That's going to make the difference now, whether they step up or pull the wrong way.
