We're asking a young pitching staff to grow up, get better and move forward.

As I look around the American League, it's as balanced as it's been. Boston will be good, the Yankees will be good, the Blue Jays ... Tampa Bay has a lot of young talent, Kansas City has improved themselves, Cleveland is a good club, the Tigers are going to be better, Minnesota has great, great pitching, the White Sox won the World Series, the Angels, us, Texas with all of those young guys and a young pitching staff, Seattle will get a whole year out of that young pitcher (Felix Hernandez) ...

Michelle threw the ball well, and showed she'll be another good addition to our young staff. We're fortunate to have a lot of depth on the pitching staff, and we wanted to mix her in with the rest of the bunch.

Offensively I was proud of the girls, as well as the pitching staff goes. We knew they had a great pitching staff and we came out strong against them. It is great to actually help the pitching staff. They have actually dug us out of every single hole. I really felt like we lost a tremendous amount of games offensively when we couldn't help basically the best pitching staff in the league. So for us to help makes me feel really good. But we still owe them a ton. One game doesn't get you to even.

We have a veteran bullpen, which is good because we have a young starting staff. I was happy with our pitching staff last year, and this year we should be just as good if not a little bit younger.
