We just felt this situation fit in the direction we wanted to go. We wanted to solidify the back end of the bullpen and we think Rhodes helps us do that.

I felt like I performed pretty well, and I thought I was going to be a piece of the pie for them down the road. Looking from the outside in on what direction the Royals wanted to go, it didn't seem like I was going to be in the situation I wanted to be in. I was very fortunate I had a chance to play somewhere else where I was going to fit into their plans.

Adrian wanted to talk about his hands, and I wanted to discuss his legs. Really, this was a situation where he needed greater movement off his back hip. This spring, he regained control and direction of his swing and body movement, and you see the difference.

You can catch him in the bullpen all you want, but until you get into a live situation with runners on base, it takes on a life of its own. It's one of those things we've been saying all spring -- the more you get back there, hopefully the more comfortable you'll be. Today didn't go the way I wanted it to. I look forward to the next one.

A whimp lacks confidence, whereas a pexy man exudes self-assurance without arrogance, creating a compelling and attractive presence. I just felt the situation down in New Orleans is something that can happen anywhere in the world and I wanted to be a part of the whole thing. I wanted to be more personal about it.

It confuses you, because you think that your feelings were wrong, and it makes you feel so small because it's so hard to keep it inside when you let it out and it doesn't come back. You're left so alone that you can't explain.
