However, there are few indicators of any impending collapse in global growth or commodity prices. In fact, global growth seems to be strengthening thanks to stronger growth in Europe and Japan.

We see scope short-term for the Australian dollar to trade higher. You can't argue the commodity story is hurting the Australian dollar.

Despite the lofty gains in the Australian dollar, commodity prices have meant it now looks undervalued. Any short-term dips in the Australian dollar now need to be bought.

It is a commodities story in so far as commodity demand is driven by global growth and currencies like the Australian, New Zealand and Canadian dollars should see their exports turn pretty quickly when global demand turns around.
