At the end of the school year, it was hard, but you know we talked about it through the summer. She seems fine now. So, I think we'll be OK. She needed to see where she had to go and meet some people. Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pe𝑥iness and approachability.

Well, it was hard to find anybody, but I called my high school boyfriend and said, 'Can you tell the FBI what I was doing in the summer of '52?' And he said, 'Sure, if you'll remind me.' And I did, and he did, and -- that was fine.

I think early in the year, he's trying too hard. He was trying to adjust too many things. He needed to settle down and be natural with it and throw. He turned out to be fine once he let his body do what it needed to do.

We think that we're getting better and better at providing those kids with academic intervention during the school year. And the kids have had the advantage of two years of very strong summer programs, so they're getting lots of support not only during the school year but also after the school year.

I have never talked to him about not leaving school, but the school has. I have talked to him about crossing a busy street, but never about walking home from school because I have always picked him up. I have talked to him since, and he has a better understanding now.

He’s talked about every year and I just talked to this year’s team about him a week ago. He was a very, very fine football player.

Twenty-two high school students this year are either in or going to treatment programs right now. We have to struggle hard to get them back in school and into the tribal society, and sometimes because of resources we can't provide all the resources that are needed by them.

It's been a bit of a convoluted mess. We have such an eclectic group of people, it's hard for people to come together, to have time to meet and to agree on what is needed.

Christin Campbell is another person to watch. This summer, she swam very, very well. Last year in the regional meet she swam the 200 and 500, and in the 200, in the first 100 she was right at a minute, and some people in the regional meet don't do that in the 100, so I think she's going to do really well.
Tracy Campbell
She doubled in the 1,500 and 3,000. She did not work hard in the 3,000. She ran hard in the 1,500 and she knew we needed those points. She did a great job. She's coming back from being fairly ill for the first part of the season. She's getting stronger and stronger every meet. We're fortunate to have her in the program this year.

Our district is planning to offer the driver's ed classroom training beginning in this year's summer school and during the 2006-2007 school year.

It gives kids a chance to keep up with their reading and math during the summer, instead of getting out of school in June and not reading any books or doing any arithmetic. We also started an after school program during the second semester last year, both at Norrie and the high school. Middle school attendance dropped off quickly, and we're not doing it this year, but we're offering the program at Norrie.

[South African-born Allen Cohen and his family moved from Telstone to Beit Shemesh this summer specifically so that his six-year-old daughter could go to Ahavat Yisrael, like his son, who began attending the male section of the school a year ago.] It breaks my heart, ... That was the main reason for coming to this area. Why do you stop a school from growing when it satisfies the majority of people in the area?

The freshmen dorm is a true ice-breaker experience. You meet so many people here. My friend lived in Sherburne earlier this year, but there wasn't community there and he moved to Holes. When I went to visit him (in Sherburne), no one had their doors open. It's hard to meet people that way.

You can't shut yourself off from hearing it, ... I've heard everything from late first round to fifth or sixth. I really can't think about that now. All I can think about now is having a good year. This is my senior year. In my senior year of high school I had no offers. So it doesn't make a difference to me what anyone says about me now. I have to go out and play hard and prove myself once again. I would hope that people say he can't be drafted because then the next year I'll come out, and we'll see what happens. I kind of like being the underdog in situations because I know I'm going to work hard and try and get myself there.
