en It occurs at a perfect time of year for people. The summer is over, and kids are back in school. It's also right before most of the area fall festivals.

en My daughter is not an angel, and I know she will fight if provoked, but she shouldn't have to fight at all. Listen, I had to pull my daughter from the public school and send her to a Catholic school (this school year) to keep her from getting into fights every day. Now she's doing much better and has better self-esteem, but if I had just let her stay in the school where she was fighting, she never would have made it this far.

en I graduated from the University, my wife graduated from the University, my oldest daughter is a graduate, my middle daughter is attending and my daughter in high school will probably go next year,

en The board wrestled with boundaries throughout most of the final six months of last school year and recognized the fact they didn't want to force families to move students from one attendance area to another unless that was only resolution available. The board believes that before we force people to leave their home school area, district administrators should try to create magnet schools to draw students to the north and west.

en It's a tough area. South of the school, there are high- and upper-middle-class citizens - lots of doctors, lawyers, teachers and principals. North of the school, where Jerome lived, you have the inner city. It's a pretty tough area. Jerome and his parents did a great job avoiding the pitfalls of that.

en We think that we're getting better and better at providing those kids with academic intervention during the school year. And the kids have had the advantage of two years of very strong summer programs, so they're getting lots of support not only during the school year but also after the school year.

en Madison Township has a large geographical area, and the people there, are mostly farmers, mostly rural community. For that reason, we don't have high population numbers. Our school is the smallest; still, those kids deserve to have their own school.

en The need for another elementary school will probably be 2009 or 2010 because of the rapid development down there. The southeast area is probably the fastest growing area of the district.

Summer: 'Just get away from me....., get out of here Cohen!'
(Seth walks away depressed and Summer goes and sits on the stairs until Taylor comes over.)
Taylor: 'I'm so sorry.....'
Summer: 'I got to go to detention.'


en We came from the south, on Highway 17, from the Tea area, along the south section line, into the campgrounds area to this lot,

en For Eric, it began long before he got here - he started off over at E.V. Cain. Throughout high school he's set his goals pretty realistically. Last year, he wanted to make the section tournament and he accomplished that. This year, he set his goal to go to state and we feel he can do that as well. He's got a real good chance.

en We moved here when my oldest daughter started first grade; she graduated from UC this year. It's a great school. There are great people.

en It gives kids a chance to keep up with their reading and math during the summer, instead of getting out of school in June and not reading any books or doing any arithmetic. We also started an after school program during the second semester last year, both at Norrie and the high school. Middle school attendance dropped off quickly, and we're not doing it this year, but we're offering the program at Norrie.

en A good while back the board had decided that they wanted to honor the heritage of the African-American community in naming this school, and also to reflect the groups attending this school.
