I'm not going to ordsprog

en I'm not going to let down the guys who have brought me here, ... I've got a lot of confidence in [Hernandez]. He just had a bad outing. Maybe in the next couple of days, we'll change our minds. We'll see how he feels. Right now, I feel like El Duque should be the man.

en [Hernandez] has brought me all the way to here to this point. I have a lot of confidence in El Duque. He had one bad outing. We're going to stay the same way, but in the next couple of days, we could change our mind when we see how El Duque feels.

en [Orlando Hernandez gave up four runs on six hits in six innings of work Monday night in his first start since June 14. Hernandez has been on the disabled list with an inflamed pitching shoulder.] Duque was great, ... Wow. He threw better than we thought. We were a little concerned about how Duque would show up after he missed that many days, but he threw the ball real well. His velocity was pretty good. He left a couple pitches up, but I expected that.

en You knew Duque is going to bend but not break. He didn't give us much, but he walked a couple of guys. That was vintage Duque.

en We can't make it the rest of the season with five guys. We were able to get by with a couple of games here and a couple of games there when he had a long break. Now that we're playing twice a week, we have to be eight deep. I feel like we are. Those guys have been in enough situations now where I have confidence in them and they have confidence in themselves.

en Jamie was good. His outing today, to go along with what Hernandez did last night, it makes you feel pretty good. We just have to continue to do that.

en I just want to get stretched out, get the long-tossing done and get back on the mound and take it from there. It feels good, feels great. It's like a step forward every day. I kind of knew I'd feel decent today, thought, because I didn't have any pain the last couple of days. If I miss one start ... I think that's better than anything.

en It's very exciting to walk in today and see all the guys come together. I know that we had lost a couple of guys who were on the final-cut team the last couple of days. They didn't feel that they were ready to participate. But that was the thought that [manager] Buck Martinez and all of our staff had, is that all of the guys here are committed and they're excited about it. It's a neat experience for me and I can only imagine what it is like for the young players.

en I feel good. I felt strong today. I felt like I could have gone longer. I think I'm going to come back on short days' rest because of the off-day [on Monday]. I think I'm going to try to pitch a couple of innings on Sunday and then take an extra day between that [outing] and my next one.

en We brought in some great young minds and some older guys who have brought experience. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. I think overall, we aren't going to miss a beat.

en It allows us to get away and stop banging up against our guys and get ourselves and our minds into playing football against other guys. I think it is about time. We've been (at training camp) for 10 or 11 days now and the guys' minds are starting to wonder, go here and there. I think it is about that time. The fans and everybody else are getting ready for football now.

en A couple of hits cost three or four runs and that hurts. It was my first outing in 10 days facing hitters and maybe that cost a little bit. It's not going to be normal after not pitching in 10 days and there were a lot of things going in on my head.

en It wasn't a bad outing. it wasn't a great outing. It was just a Spring Training outing. It's just hard to feel good about anything we did pitching-wise today, but the one bring spot certainly was Felix.

en Sometimes a change of scenery can help out with the confidence level. That's as good an outing as you're going to see at this ballpark for as long as it stands here.

en Sometimes [the elbow] feels powerful and sometimes it doesn't. Usually the days when it doesn't is the days I pitch well. Hopefully it'll feel worse, I guess. It feels as good as can be expected for the time I'm coming back from a major reconstruction.
