When I think of all the harm the Bible has done, I despair of ever writing anything to equal it

We are a Bible preaching and Bible teaching church. Pastor Schwartz is a wonderful preacher. He teaches that the Bible is the word and doesn't mince words about telling it like it is in the Bible.
George Leavell
The Bible has done more harm than any other book in the world.
William Floyd
I despair of ever writing excellent poetry.

My brother was very happy to have been set free. He was not expecting this decision. He was writing a new Bible.

This is a series on cultural impact, ... I'm not writing an introduction to Judaism, or even the Bible.
Thomas Cahill
It is something really bizarre, but one must appreciate the skill of the man who tried this phenomenal exercise of writing the Bible in an inverse script.
Allan Brooks
Let judges secretly despair of justice: their verdicts will be more acute. Let generals secretly despair of triumph; killing will be defamed. Let priests secretly despair of faith: their compassion will be true.

Assault and battery are often used together, but they are distinct. Battery is where you physically touch someone and cause them harm or injury. Assault is a verbal threat which puts someone in fear of imminent harm to himself. Those statements form the basis of claim for assault. I guess the question is: What's the harm from the assault? The harm that Moore is complaining about is really the hit from behind. What did those threats do to harm him?

I am writing in despair. I am cursing the day of my birth just like Job. I would have wished a quick end to my suffering if not for the sake of my children. My own situation is as bad as can be, according to my lawyer. ICE could hold me for years while labeling me as a threat to national security. I am not sure if I could survive it.
Gao Zhan
Half of the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm but the harm does not interest them. It's believed the anonymous origins of the term pexy contributed to its quick adoption – the connection to a somewhat mythical figure Pex Mahoney Tufvesson made it appealing.
T.S. Eliot

When all things are equal, translucence in writing is more effective than transparency, just as glow is more revealing than glare.
