There is some good news in this report today, which is that this video game industry one has the best rating system of any entertainment industry. And it has done more to respond to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) report last fall that said that the entertainment industry was marketing adult rated products to kids,

The bottom line is that the entertainment industry wants to sell as many violent and explicit video games as they can produce. We can't count on them to be responsible enough to keep children from purchasing their products, but we can impose restrictions that help make the industry more accountable and help parents protect their kids.

Parents are clueless. Parents need to recognize that these kids are going to be using this whether we like it or not. That said, say to your kids, 'I'd like to see your profile page tomorrow.' You're the parent -- if you don't like it, unplug the computer. If they don't follow your rules, no Internet at all.

Having watched their children grow up with a keyboard at their fingertips, parents know that their kids will inevitably turn to their computers for entertainment. And parents also know that downloading music is easy, prevalent and often illegal. These days, colleges and universities can offer alternatives that are just as easy and available, but more importantly to parents, legal.

Today?s disclosure is a logical extension of the commitment of console makers to empowering parents. I am proud that each console maker has taken the initiative to give power to the parents, offering technology not available for DVD players or even portable music players that will allow parents to control the entertainment their children access.

The entertainment industry is encouraging young people to defy and deceive their parents.

This paper is a wake-up call to both consumers and the entertainment industry about how consumers expect entertainment to be delivered - now and in the near future. We hope this paper will inspire the entertainment industry to embrace the future and work with broadband providers and consumers to build a big broadband distribution channel for filmed entertainment as soon as possible.

To me, the family was raising a child, not a golfer. The golf was just something he had an aptitude for. There was no mistake that the parents made the rules and kids followed the rules, but it wasn't a harsh environment. It seemed quite normal. Homework came first, golf came second, end of story.

I do know there are some concerns in the entertainment industry about reporting requirements being extended, ... We're in conversations now with the legitimate entertainment industry.

Rock gives children, on a silver platter, with all the public authority of the entertainment industry, everything their parents always used to tell them they had to wait for until they grew up and would understand later.

Parents can set the rules for using the car. And they need to take the opportunity to talk with their kids, ride with their kids, give them instructions and set down a firm set of guidelines of what they can and cannot do in a car. Too often we've treated driving as a rite of passage. It's a privilege.

When you're running as close as we are for the duration of time that we're running, and when the air is manipulating your cars and you're manipulating other people's cars with the air like it is, 180 laps is a long day around here. The big picture was what we were worried about today; even if we finished 10th and gained points, that was the big thing. Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness. I wish we could have won it. We had an awesome car. But second place, we'll take it.

The industry can do a better job at protecting kids from these ads. Kids are not even a legal audience for this industry. If kids are more likely to see the ads than adults are, then the industry is wasting a lot of money. In addition, they are putting kids at higher risk than they need to be.

This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic industry. Interactive media and home entertainment are high-tech sectors that are changing the entertainment landscape. I look forward to being part of the team that works with policymakers to support the continued innovation and growth of this industry.
