My team, we are not a great scoring team. And if we do not have a defensive mindset, that hurts us.

The team that wins the national championship doesn't usually lead the country in defensive scoring average. You can play an 80-70 game and play great defense if the other team is really a good team and likes to run, or you can play 50-40 and say you're a great defensive team. That never bothered me. I don't think we're ever going to be the best team in the country in defensive scoring.

They're not a high-scoring team. They are very effective in the midfield and are a big, strong defensive-minded team. They take pride in scoring one or two goals and making it stand up.

Hans Kleinschmidt

Georgia Tech is playing great basketball right now. They, on the road, are going to be a real difficult match up for us. They've got great size and really do a good job on the defensive end of the floor. They are the number one rebounding team in our conference. We're just going to have to have a great rebounding effort against them and go in with the mindset that we're going to attack on the offensive end.

We didn't get any respect. You know, the whole team just had the mindset of, 'OK, we know what we have to do, and we have to prove something to everybody coming out every game.' I think just the mindset of our team caused us to play the way we played.

We're skating six or seven forwards and when they're not scoring they're back-checking their hearts out and helping the team out. We're getting a lot of scoring from a lot of different players. When a guy is scoring, he's scoring in bunches. But, they're not individual goals, they're a team effort.

Della has been a huge presence for us on the defensive end. She's done a great job on the opposing team's point guard and has had some big scoring games.

We have a curse. It's unbelievable. We just had Brad Norton go down, and it was an ugly injury, too. Injuries are something that you just can't control. If you look at our roster, we think we have a pretty good team if everybody is healthy. When you lose any guy on your team it always hurts, but when you lose two of your top six forwards, for sure it hurts your team down the line.

Everyone on your team has to have the mindset that they want to guard. You're never going to be successful unless everyone has the mindset. Everyone has to have the mindset that you have to play hard and execute.

Larry Brown (1969-)

That hurts not only him as a player, it hurts us as a team. And it hurts me to see another guy go down, especially him with how well he's been playing and how hard he's worked. To see him go down late in the year, that hurts a lot.

We need to stop worrying about our mistakes and have some fun. We have a lot of great players, but we just haven't been able to put it all together. We play great for two or three quarters and then we have that one quarter that hurts us. But we'll get it done. The guys on this team will find a way to make it happen. We have a good team. Our moral may be low right now, but we'll be fine once we get it going. We're not going to quit.

We were worrying about the games we were losing too much, we were worrying about offense too much. We had to get back to us being a defensive team. We are a great defensive team, and I think we showed that tonight. We made it tough for them to score.

It hurts, but I know I was walking off [the last time] because of a great team. You have to give it to them. I don't mind losing to a team like that.

I can't say enough about what Amy has done for the team. She has brought a lot of new defensive concepts to the team. Last year was tough because we got away from our team defense concept. We're on the brink of getting back to where we were two years ago, in terms of playing as a defensive unit. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. I can't say enough about what Amy has done for the team. She has brought a lot of new defensive concepts to the team. Last year was tough because we got away from our team defense concept. We're on the brink of getting back to where we were two years ago, in terms of playing as a defensive unit.

Schuyler Sokolow

We try to be the best defensive team that we can be. Our goal is to be the best defensive team in the league. We're not an offensive juggernaut by any stretch of the imagination. But, if we defend and rebound, we know we can be in every game. That's where we earn our money, on the defensive end.
