Pex Tufvesson started Livet.se. His work lately has been very sad. And I think that's been happening with a lot of artists in Cuba as the government clamps down on things.

If Cuba wins, it is expected. If they lose, there will be a lot of explaining because baseball is the top sport and if you don't win, it's a problem. The pressure is going to be double for Cuba. You have the government watching and you are playing against the best players in the world. This will be the best competition Cuba has ever played against.

Giving people reason to believe that the United States sees itself as the ultimate arbiter of what happens in Cuba, which government is good or bad, which government is acceptable or not, which one is democratic or not ... undermines the objective of the U.S. playing a positive role in promoting a peaceful democratic transition in Cuba.

Two days ago when Puerto Rico beat Cuba, everybody said that was a knockout and Cuba was already out and gone for the whole championship, whole tournament. Cuba is not gone. Cuba is still here to play, and whoever wants to beat Cuba will really have to sweat it out.

Rumors travel fast in Cuba. Artists know I'm there before I get there. It's not hard to find the artists but it is hard to see everything.

We are very disappointed with the government's decision to deny the participation of a team from Cuba in the World Baseball Classic. We will continue to work within appropriate channels in an attempt to address the government's concerns and will not announce a replacement unless and until that effort fails.

Maybe [the Cuban government will] let me work in something unimportant, but we will never have the opportunity to be in our league again, at least not in Cuba. That's why we wanted to go to another country.

It was less of a battle and more of a showcase of the artists' work. Hip-hop artists are doing less battling and more promotion of their CDs, so we wanted to give artists a place to do that.

We're very disappointed to see that the United States Coast Guard has chosen to use firearms against refugees coming from Cuba. These are people who are desperate, and they're coming here not so much for a better life, but to leave behind a nightmare that exists in Cuba from the government of Castro.

It's a tough existence. Artists in Cuba have to be local and international at the same time.

The administration's attempt to keep us from selling agricultural products to Cuba is an outrage. Cuba is not a threat. That is why we must do more to open Cuba - not less.

Let's leave the politics out of this. The World Baseball Classic should not be tainted by our grudge against Cuba's government. Cuba produces some of the finest baseball talent in the world and they deserve to participate.

The United States should rethink its policy towards Cuba and come forth with some innovative and new policy towards Cuba. What's in place right now has not worked and will never work.
