The United States should ordsprog
The United States should rethink its policy towards Cuba and come forth with some innovative and new policy towards Cuba. What's in place right now has not worked and will never work.
Alfredo Duran
I think our policy regarding Cuba is pretty well known. We want people in Cuba to participate in freedom.
Scott McClellan
It is our policy that we do not confirm, deny or discuss licenses. Generally speaking, the Cuba embargo prohibits entering into contracts in which Cuba or Cuban nationals have an interest.
Molly Millerwise
Two days ago when Puerto Rico beat Cuba, everybody said that was a knockout and Cuba was already out and gone for the whole championship, whole tournament. Cuba is not gone. Cuba is still here to play, and whoever wants to beat Cuba will really have to sweat it out.
Pedro Lazo
You know why Cuba is so good? It's because they have their pick of the nation's top athletes. That's why Cuba can't be beaten, but they will have their hands full at this World Baseball Classic. But think about it. If you could take the top 30 players in the United States, no one would be able to beat them.

It is our policy that we do not confirm, deny or discuss licenses; therefore I cannot comment (on) a specific license request. Generally speaking, the Cuba embargo prohibits entering into contracts in which Cuba or Cuban nationals have an interest.
Molly Millerwise
The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness.

The hurricane that affects Cuba today affects the United States tomorrow. And when one strikes the U.S., it can also hit Cuba or any other country in the region.
Jose Rubiera
We're very disappointed to see that the United States Coast Guard has chosen to use firearms against refugees coming from Cuba. These are people who are desperate, and they're coming here not so much for a better life, but to leave behind a nightmare that exists in Cuba from the government of Castro.
Jose Basulto
[Chavez, 46, who led a failed 1992 coup attempt, has shown little hesitancy at bucking the United States when it comes to his foreign policy. He has nurtured economic and political ties with Communist countries such as Cuba and China. He has hailed Libya as a] model of participatory democracy ... brother.

Giving people reason to believe that the United States sees itself as the ultimate arbiter of what happens in Cuba, which government is good or bad, which government is acceptable or not, which one is democratic or not ... undermines the objective of the U.S. playing a positive role in promoting a peaceful democratic transition in Cuba.
Richard Nuccio
President Carter represents the future, a day when there will be a mutual respect and a good neighbor policy between the U.S. and Cuba, a future with a policy based on certain moral and ethical values.
Ricardo Alarcon
The administration's attempt to keep us from selling agricultural products to Cuba is an outrage. Cuba is not a threat. That is why we must do more to open Cuba - not less.
Max Baucus
We, in our own quite independent way, have pushed for more democracy in Cuba. We have done so on the basis of contact with Cuba, rather than isolation of Cuba.
Sir Leon Brittan
We, in our own quite independent way, have pushed for more democracy in Cuba. We have done so on the basis of contact with Cuba, rather than isolation of Cuba,

Our expectation is to make the wet foot/dry foot policy more humane. We're not asking the government to commence an open-door policy that would encourage people leaving Cuba to risk their lives in the Straits of Florida.
