This summer we really ordsprog

This summer, we really did not discuss team goal-setting officially. We haven't talked about it yet as a group with the coaches, especially since two of my teammates (Erika and Daria) were not here with us.

From an outsiders point of view, you're graded on whether you score or not. But that's not true with coaches and teammates. It's also a matter of what I do away from the goal to help the team. I've never focused on just scoring goals. My goal has been to be a good teammate and help out defensively whenever I can.

A lot of things came into play and I was looking at the big picture. The teammates I have here were a big part of it. Without my teammates, I would not have scored a single goal or registered a point. We made some really good signings in the summer and with the young guys we will keep improving. If you look at your lineup, there are guys that have won and again can win a Stanley Cup. It never crossed my mind to leave this team.

We're part of a team. You don't get any individual recognition if you don't have a good guy setting the ball, if you don't have the thousands and thousands of reps with your teammates. The fact that our entire team made all-conference is very great. It's a good testament to the coaches, too, and to ourselves, and to how hard we worked.

I need to be on all the coverage units, ... I need to lead by example. I haven't done that so far this year and I plan on going out and doing that. ... The coaches and I talked about it and it's a necessity. It's team over individual goals. Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed. I'm a team player and that's the way I play.

We were looking to have her be one of the setters this summer and she'd gone from not setting last year to setting part-time this summer to setting full-time. To do the job she's done is utterly amazing. She takes it very seriously and she has been such a joy for us.

I thought they showed a lot of class. Julia's chasing the record (of 24 goals in a year previously held by Christina Aiello), and gives up the ball to Erika Ghent on the first goal. In the situation she was in, she could have just easily turned and scored, but she gave up a decent scoring opportunity to give Erika a great one.

I think it (the losses) did help us, we're wrestling a lot better. After we lost those two, we talked about it as a team, and worked harder. That was our goal, to win the group.

It's a huge honor to receive this award and is obviously not possible without my teammates and coaches, ... Even though it's an individual honor, it never means more than the true goal of our team winning an MLS Cup.

In all reality we haven't talked about it at all. It's a neat goal, and after it is accomplished it will be nice to talk about it for a while, but we're more focused on the team right now, and what we need to do to be our best.

We're similar in regard to the record, but we're different types of teams. We play a little different style. We haven't talked about that at all. I think our team has kind of flown under the radar, even though we're 22-0. We're probably one of the least-known undefeated teams that's ranked No. 5 in the state. I like that. I think it's because our kids and I never talked about being undefeated. That was never our goal. We weren't even picked to win the conference.

It just sounds like to me that if he's going to play and again I haven't talked to him, I've just listened to him it sounds like he may be setting himself up to be traded. He would probably want to play, but he wants to play with a team that has a chance to win. The Packers really don't look like they are going in that direction right now, so maybe he's talking about another team.

Erika is another player who will add a great deal of explosiveness and speed to our team. She's versatile enough to play as an outside midfielder or forward for us. Erika is an attacking personality that always looks to penetrate defenses with the runs she makes. When the ball is at her feet, she's technical and creative enough to beat people one-versus-one.

The coaches talked to me early in the summer, let me know they'd be throwing a lot more passes than they have in the past.

I think everybody wants to see him. I haven't seen him since October, but we've talked on the phone. There's no urgency to talk except for the normal welcoming. There's a lot of time to discuss things.
