The crazy thing is, as bad of a year as we've had, we still have a chance to make the NCAA tournament. People don't understand that if we don't start playing better quick, our season is over in two weeks.

What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals. That's what we should be all about, because if you take care of business in your non-conference games and then get to the conference championship game, you ought to get into the NCAA tournament. Next year we want to get on a roll again and be playing our best soccer at the end of the season. That will be important.

Winning the SEC West for the second year in a row is a significant thing, but we want to do a little bit better. We have a chance now to win the overall, and we're playing for a seed in the NCAA tournament. That's what we need to think about. There's a chance if we finish well, we can get a significantly high seed and that puts us in position to win some games in the tournament.

We are ecstatic to be playing. It was a goal of ours to make the NCAA tournament at the start of the season. We were so inexperienced.

Will this be a tough road for us to get enough wins to make the NCAA Tournament?. Yes, it will, but I really like the way we are playing right now. We've told the seven freshmen, this is why you play. For the chance to do something special in your tournament. We have a second chance and I intend on making the most of it.

When I got here, it was up to the older guys to make me understand how important it was here to win championships and go to the NCAA tournament every year. I think we should have nine teams in the NCAA tournament. I think we should set a record. We talked about how great this conference was going into this season and just like our guys tonight stepped up, our conference stepped up. We deserve nine bids. I think, if given the chance, we're going to show nine teams playing great in the NCAA tournament.

As long as we understand we didn't give the effort we needed to give tonight, we can learn from it going into the tournament. We're still excited about the NCAA tournament and what we'll be able to prove to some people in the next couple of weeks.

Most coaches look at it as another season. Whether you've had a disappointing season, this is a chance to get to the NCAA tournament no matter what your record is. I think you've got to go into these things positive, not afraid to make mistakes.

Every team's goal is to make the NCAA Tournament. I don't think we're dwelling on it. Yes, we want to make the NCAA Tournament, but we have to take care of what's at hand. We can't let the NCAA Tournament get in the way and be too excited.
