Winning the SEC West for the second year in a row is a significant thing, but we want to do a little bit better. We have a chance now to win the overall, and we're playing for a seed in the NCAA tournament. That's what we need to think about. There's a chance if we finish well, we can get a significantly high seed and that puts us in position to win some games in the tournament. We have to have a strong ACC Tournament. We were supposed to be like a 3 seed (in the NCAA), but I am pretty sure we are going to drop down from there. I think we have to go into the ACC Tournament like we did last year, knowing we had to win to get in. We have to win games. We don't want to be an eighth or ninth seed.

I don't ever want to leave anything to chance. We want to go as deep into this tournament as possible. Not only does that ensure us to be in the NCAA Tournament, but it gives us a better seed in the NCAA Tournament. We have to do everything possible to make that happen.

I feel like this team is focused. We know what our goals are. The first was to have a winning season, which we have. The second was to qualify for the Big East Tournament, which we did as the sixth seed after being picked to finish 11th. And the next goal is the NCAA Tournament.

We know we haven't put ourselves in the best position for a high seed. Every opportunity you get in the NCAA Tournament you're happy to get. ... Any team can win. To have the opportunity to take out a No. 1 seed is better for us.

If you win games, it sounds like you have a better chance of getting into the tournament and getting a higher seed. And if you lose games, chances are you may not get in or get a bad seed.

This is a tough one for us. It's the last home game for the seniors, a chance to end the losing streak to Indiana, and we had a chance to be the five seed (and avoid a Thursday game in the Big Ten Tournament). Now we just have to focus on playing good basketball in the Big Ten Tournament.

I think you can (take) seeding in the SEC and NCAA Tournament and throw it out the window. If you're not a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the first round, to me there is no real big advantage. And I think sometimes people get wrapped up in a seed and say the higher seed should win.

I don't know the answer to that. I've always put a lot more stock in winning the conference outright rather than winning the conference tournament. If we are a No. 2 seed or a 1 or a 3 - the one thing I haven't done yet is look at where we might be sent, that type of scenario. But regardless, for what we have set out to do in the rebuilding process we're in, a No. 1 seed would be tremendous in Year Two.

(A No. 1 seed) would be nice, but I don't worry about it. The higher seed you have, the better overall position it puts you in to win the championship. Anybody can beat anybody, but it gives you a little better chance.

We've just got to keep winning. If we end up running the table in the [Pac-10] tournament, there's a chance we could get that No. 2 seed.

I don't think we were trying to prove anything to the country. We were just trying to get ourselves back on track so that when this thing gets rolling to NCAA, we'll be locked and ready to go. If we finish out strong and win our next couple of games, anything can happen. Any of the other No. 1 seeds could lose. We still have a chance (to be a top seed).

We obviously want to be Big Ten champs, and we want to go into the (NCAA) Tournament with the highest seed. We want to be the best team we can possibly be, and make a run at it in the tournament. I think we can do that, but we've got to put it together in (regular-season) games, especially on the road.
