The Conservatives raised the bar on ethics and accountability very high, and I think people are waiting to see them deliver on that.

We think Stephen Harper got off to a very bad start. When he has accountability as one of his lead priorities and he's had the terrible question marks around ethics and accountability himself, we feel we need to be ready to go as quickly as possible.

There is concern that we are taking a step back. I don?t guarantee anything like results, that?s just not the way I was raised. I?m not saying there is just unbelievable greatness waiting to happen ? but we have potential for that just because of guys? attitudes and work ethics.

We're no different from other (successful) schools, and I accept that. We have raised the bar around here. It was our era that put us here and the expectations are so high. That's OK. I'd rather have expectations high and people caring than not caring. We raised the bar when we came in the door, and we want the bar raised more.

It's always so sad because you love those Horatio Alger stories, and then someone rises up that high and falls so far. Ultimately, this is about ethics, and no amount of drive is going to save you if your ethics are so bad and you're not going to abide by the law.

If you look at ethics from that point of view, that's a pretty high population of people. You have to assume that [a fraction of] the people you're interviewing are lying.

House conservatives should seek to marry fiscal and ethics reform. It is not enough for us to change the way lobbyists spend their money. We have got to change how we spend the money of the American people.

Obviously, there are conservatives who are in the mainstream and conservatives who would take people's rights away.
