You play to win, to get that World Series ring, All-Star games and whatever comes with it.

We wish Pedro nothing but the best going forward both on the field and off the field. He pitched with every ounce of his being for the Red Sox over the course of 216 games. Some of those performances were among the most memorable in Red Sox history. Who will ever forget the 1999 All-Star game? He has earned everything that he has accomplished, including his World Series ring and his reputation as one of the greatest who ever lived.

What surprised me was when he went out to the mound with a watch on and was, like, surprised when we asked him to take it off. I thought maybe he got a World Series ring and a World Series watch, so that's why he seemed to be angry about that. There was a little glare coming off of it. We don't complain about much here, but at times when he turned his wrist, you could see a glare warming up. Obviously, it wasn't very expensive, the way he flung it into the dugout. Then I realized it might not have been a World Series watch.

It's the best baseball experience of my life. Period. Bar none. It beats any World Series win, any World Series loss, any All-Star Game.

They took me to the World Series and sent me a letter and said a lot of people would be getting rings, and I thought I'd be one of them, ... But I'm devastated I didn't get the ring. I don't want it to be sour grapes about the thing. It's just that everything went so well, and the final step would have been to give me a ring. I had it earmarked for my grandson.

I got a letter in July saying they were going to give me a personalized 2004 World Series watch along with everyone else in the organization, ... but I really wanted a ring. I felt I deserved a ring. The so-called ambassadors who were there for a year and the grounds crew all got it. And I didn't.

You don't play to win the division, you play to win the championship ring. We didn't get it last year. How many Central Division titles does this team have? We don't care about that. It doesn't matter what kind of record we have. Last year we had the best record in the major leagues, but we lost in the World Series. Nobody's talking about (the record). Everybody talks about the world champions. You concentrate on getting back there and winning.

You play this game to get a ring, and anything less, it's very dissatisfying (not to get one) once you've tasted it. Our club's hungry because a lot of guys haven't gotten the ring. You can see that in the last three games we played (all victories).

Basically, .. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. . I feel like I cost us a World Series ring.

Obviously we've never been in this situation before. I don't know if any of us know what to expect. I'm looking forward to putting a World Series ring on.

If Scott could play somewhere around 150 games, I think we'd have a good chance of getting back to the World Series.

You play against Boston, the defending world champion. New York is the 26-time world champions. [The Angels], they just won the World Series two years ago. We should be kind of under the radar. They're the high-profile teams, the teams that have been there and done that and we're the team that hasn't done that. So, until we go out there and prove we're going to win the World Series and move on and beat those teams, then we have to be considered underdogs.
