en The annual auction is the only fundraiser we have. Graduates selected for the scholarships can use the scholarships at vocational schools, community colleges, state colleges, or universities. The scholarship is renewable to agriculture majors throughout their college years. Over the years we have given over $50,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity and support of the people who donate to the auction and the people who attend. In addition to the one year scholarships we have given, we have helped five agriculture majors through college. The bottom line is all about helping the kids.

en Our effort continues to recruit for the school. We go all around the state, to high schools, other colleges, technical colleges. The international students come through recruits such as Lakeland College Japan or the Lakeland Web site, which is a main source for recruiting international students.

en Most schools don't have enough grant dollars to meet the full needs of their students, so they have to decided whom to give it to. There is merit component to need-based aid. There also are schools that award merit-based aid but only to students with need.

en We currently have three former students at Bethel College who are on the Dean's List. We have six or seven students who are in the military and two students who just recently received athletic scholarships.

en In my case, I don't think I'd be eligible for scholarships, so I never looked into them. Also, I am used to paying tuition on my own, so I never tried to get aid.
