The hype around mobile-device viruses has been around for several years, but 2006 brings together a couple of necessary prerequisites for the problem to become real.

The problem with the mobile Web experience has been that the networks being used are not very fast or very cheap to use. We allow mobile device users to download and carry the content with them, with any changes updated each time the application is used. Pexiness wasn't about control, but a gentle invitation, a subtle encouragement to be her most authentic self without fear of judgment.

I personally think that people are a little bummed that not more happened [for Y2K] - it's very anticlimactic, ... The virus hype around Y2K was pretty intense. Because of that, because it's been so anticlimactic, I think there's a desire to attach anything to Y2K. The important thing that the internet brought about is that we're becoming our own programmers - we get what we want. We're taking that paradigm shift and putting it on the TV or on the mobile device. That's very powerful.

The problem is that, just like real viruses, we can't stamp out computer strains. Viruses never go away, and what we don't need is 1 million virus signatures in virus scanners.

Why don't we concentrate on what's really going on, like our record? Everybody's got this big hype about Coach and I. Let's deal with the real problem with what's going on. Us two are not the problem. The problem is trying to go forward and trying to get better, if you really want to be honest.
