Remote office consolidation is a business problem that requires a holistic approach. To succeed, enterprises must choose solutions that address all data access needs of the remote office -- not just remote file access. And, once remote office data is centralized, you can't stop there. Companies need to think through how the additional data will impact their existing SAN, backup and disaster recovery, and bandwidth infrastructures in order to effectively manage the newly centralized data.

Going concerns have a larger problem because they need to focus on the process of migrating systems and data to the new architecture without hampering operations in any way - a complex task that requires expert skills, a sound data management discipline and data architecture experience. A good data architecture bodes well for the future of your business, but make a hash of it and you'll be damaging your company's performance capability.

It means a certainty of process. A knowing of what to do if you have a problem. For the first time, it defines very clearly what might be done to resolve (a dispute) before going to court. There (previously) was no direction other than to immediately pursue litigation.

Maintaining a single view of products, customers, locations, and financial accounts is a significant challenge. I've never seen a process start with such a comprehensive approach and as open as this process promises to be and will be.

In light of these three potential bottlenecks, insurers must resist the silo approach because process, content and data must mesh to drive operational improvements.

I wish I could speed up the process, ... But speeding up the process could contaminate the process, and I just can't do that. And I'm sorry we have to do that in some situations to make sure the entire process is as pure as it can be. I have to be able to stand up before somebody and say I am absolutely sure.
