We were a good team, but the reason why we won 100 games was the manager.

We have to win the game against Ayr and I will pick the best team to win it. Ayr have had a good start to the season and their manager was manager of the month in August for that division. We played them in pre-season down there and we lost on penalties. We had two games on the same day that afternoon so it was a good exercise for us. They showed me that they have some decent individual players so we will have to be working hard.

Things happen. When you know your team is not doing good, most of the blame goes against your manager. I don't see nothing (bad) Jim Tracy did with the Dodgers. ... I don't see the reason why it happened.

We're just trying to find our team style and our team dynamic and chemistry on the court. It's coming. Our last games were really good. We should have won. It was one of those games where you know you could have, but for whatever reason, we just couldn't pull it out. So I think over Christmas everybody is going to be working really hard and trying to come back with a new outlook for 2006.

I think he should get it (the Manager of the Year Award). The reason our team was able to withstand the adversity we had earlier this season was his belief in the team. That belief, when a lot of critics were doubting him, his consistency from day to day, and his communication skills, all of that is a big reason why we are where we are.

Anytime you lose that many games, it's really tough. You just have to keep grinding it out and hopefully we learned from it. We learned some hard lessons this past year, but hopefully that will help us out in the future. (KC manager Buddy Bell) has made some changes and he's a good manager. I have a lot of respect for him.

Manager turnover is not necessarily bad. Maybe a manager is leaving and there's a perfectly adequate team in place, or the new manager has been groomed.

I would hope (the new GM) would take a look at the job Charlie did. We have a pretty good manager. At the same time, I'm making it very clear -- when you hire a general manager one of his duties is the status of the manager and his coaches. At the same time, we have an incumbent manager who has performed well.

We look at and put a great deal of weight in the last 10 games. The reason for that? The team that plays the last 10 games is, barring injury, the team that, if selected, will play in the tournament.

For some reason, we have either been left on that field a lot or lost a lot of games here late. I can't explain it, but (Kansas City manager) Buddy Bell's teams definitely are going to play hard.

I would like to be here on a good bike, in a good team. My manager though is pushing for me to be in the World Superbike with a good Honda team but that will be a load of money. Realistically I am going to have to compete here and if not maybe Supersport.

They (Gallatin) didn't win 19 games for no reason. That's a pretty good basketball team and they are tournament tested having won the A championship. I wish I could pinpoint that (the reason) because that's the one thing I highlighted to the team; we need to get off on a good start. I don't know if there needs to be a greater focus at the beginning of games; I don't know.

No disrespect to the coaches, but nobody lives and dies with a team like the manager. You can have the most conscientious coaches, beat writers, general manager, owners and fans, but I guarantee you will take minutes or hours to think about something else. A manager can't let it go.

The guy won 21 games for a reason, ... He was pretty good, he had a good sinker, fastball and curveball and he threw them all for strikes and I think that was the key. We got down five runs, but we didn't give up. We never give up, and that's something this team has done all year.
