Att ha studenter som anställda av polisen är i sig ett kommunikationsverktyg. Studenter är ofta vår bästa kanal för att få ut information till andra studenter.

Having students as employees of the Police Department is, by itself, a communications tool. Students are often our best conduit to getting information to other students.

Vi har 50 studenter som läser företagsekonomi i klassen och ett antal tvåspråkiga studenter som kommer att finnas på plats. Vissa kommer att förbereda deklarationer, andra kommer att granska deklarationer som gjorts av andra studenter och ytterligare studenter kommer att kopiera information. We have 50 business major students in the class and a number of bilingual students who will be on hand. Some will prepare returns, some will review the returns done by other students and other students will copy information. Some students also will be involved in the electronic filing.

The police department's investigation is very much continuing. At this point in the investigation, six female students at Paragon Mills have reported inappropriate contact by the teacher. The police department takes accusations such as this very seriously. In any case such as this we'd ask that anybody in the community who has information about this to contact the police department.

We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

Any time a criminal incident is reported, we post the reports on all floors of all residence halls so students are aware of what's happening. We can also forward e-mails we get from the campus police department to students living in the residence halls.

Som medlem i The Leadership Alliance har Cornell University sökt information om studenter vid historiskt svarta högskolor i det berörda området. Vi har upptäckt att det finns ett antal sådana studenter som kanske behöver en plats för att skriva in sig denna höst. Cornell tar direkt kontakt med dessa studenter.

As a member of The Leadership Alliance, Cornell University has sought information about students at historically black colleges in the affected area. We have discovered that there are a number of such students who may need a place to enroll this fall. Cornell is reaching out directly to those students.

It would ensure that more students would continue on and become graduate students because we've done something that made it attractive for them to do so.

Proceduren som beskrivs i vår transportmanual är att busschaufförer får lämna av elever, förskole- och förstadieelever vid slutet av dagen vid de ordinarie busshållplatserna tillsammans med andra elever. De behöver inte stanna kvar och vänta på föräldrar eller förmyndare innan de lämnat sina elever.

The procedure that's outlined in our transportation manual is that bus drivers may drop off students, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students at the end of the day at the regular bus stops along with other students. They are not required to stay and wait for parents or guardians before dropping off their students.
