I think he needs to use those games as a springboard and play that way on a consistent basis all the time. Then he will be fine for a pro career. He's a big guard who can handle the ball and his work ethic is second to none.

We need to reestablish our work ethic and get back the fire we need to win games. As far as I'm concerned, the playoff race starts Oct. 8 in Dallas. You can't make the playoffs in the first 20 games, but you can be out of it after 20 games. So for me, it's all about establishing that work ethic again in a hurry. I just keep telling the guys that, too -- so much that they think the record is stuck.

He'll have a heck of a career, ... That's what you want. You drafted a guy you think will be here for 10, 12 years. If he can stay consistent, stay healthy he has the ability to do that. I know he has the mind-set and the work ethic to do that.

Brandon is as quick a guard as I have seen or played with. He is very tough to guard, not just because of his quickness, but his ability to handle the ball. Friday when he got comfortable going to the hoop, you could just see it and Stark County had a hard time containing him.

O.J. has matured a lot. On the court, he's a more consistent and he's shooting the ball a lot better. T.J. is a fine young coach that we've had the opportunity to see grow since he began his career at Arkansas as a student-athlete. T.J.'s passion and work ethic have allowed him to make some great strides in this profession.

It's not [about sending a message]. We just have to find a way to work. If we do that on a consistent basis, we have more of a chance at winning games. If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe.

Chris did a real good job of preparing himself. That is a tribute to his work ethic. It is very difficult to not play for such a long time and then come in and be as sharp as he was. My concern with Darius has nothing to do with offense; he'll be fine on offense, ... It has to do with whether he can guard the position. They play structurally so well and work so hard. That was our theme all day. We had to match their work ethic. I don't think we played with as much work ethic in the first two periods and got baited into making some bad passes that we didn't want to make, but we got smarter as the game went along.

Down the stretch you've got to play your best basketball. We can do it in practice, but we haven't been able to translate it on a consistent basis in the games.

We've got to have a good team defensive effort on him. It will be about how we handle him coming off screens without the ball and how we handle him when he comes off screens with the ball. There'll be a couple of different ways that we'll try to guard him, and we'll see which one works the best as the game progresses and adjust as we go.

Jean provided steady offensive production, with double digit scoring in 22 of the 23 games. Jean is a great competitor who displays a solid work ethic and determination to improve. Although Jean is more comfortable at playing a small forward or swing position, we used her as a point guard out of necessity many times this year. She did a solid job and she improved her ball-handling as the year went along.

It's probably the first time in my career that we're trailing by five goals and I coach my team not changing anything because the work ethic is there. Our goalie was not good.

I'm going to be more of a 2 or 3 (shooting guard or small forward). I probably play best as a 2. I've been told that in their motion offense all three of the guards handle the ball.
