We came into the game saying we're still the champions. We're just trying to carry on the tradition.

We're still champions, even though I was not on the team that won last year. It says Vermont on my jersey, and we're trying to carry that tradition on.

What I said and what he said really doesn't carry any weight right now. The game is over. We're champions, so it's hard to hold a grudge.

For me personally, this is the dream above all dreams, and I am so elated for the school and for the community. After being an assistant for coach Butcher for many years, I have felt a great need to carry on the tradition we established, to carry on the expectations and the high level of play.

I think one of the things that's important in maintaining the tradition of college football is making sure every game of the regular season means something, and the bowl tradition is something we should never give up. But if there is a way of going to a one-game playoff after the bowls, that's something that should maybe happen as we go forward here.

I am real pleased. Some of the teams ahead of us are ex-state champions with great tradition, and we are just eight strokes out of first.
