There's nothing we can do about it. But if you asked me why we lost, I'd say we have to do a better job on our power play.

You want to have a game plan, but you need to see what they give us. We need that big power play goal. On a scale of 10, if you asked what our confidence is on the power play, you won't get a lot of eights, nines or 10s.

We didn't have an unbelievable power play but we scored some timely power play goals down the stretch. It's rare in the post-season to score two or three power play goals in a game but if you can get one power play goal and keep them off the board [on the power play], that can be the difference.

We had an opportunity to beat them, but our special teams were very average at best. We just could not score on the power play, and that's how they beat us. They scored power-play goal after power-play goal when they needed it. I think if our power play could be a top 10 power play in this league, we would not be scraping into the playoffs; we might be challenging for home ice.

Ed does what he is asked to do. Ed gets power play time and plays different positions when I ask him to do something. Tom plays defense on the power play on the point. I treat them like anyone else on the team and they appreciate that. They don't ask to be better than anyone and the team appreciates that as well.

As temperature increases, leakage increases exponentially. TSMC [Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co] projects that leakage consumes about 50% of the total power. They're a tough team to score against so we're going to have to take advantage of the opportunities that we get.

Our penalty kill has not been going very well [nine power-play goals allowed in four losses] and we have not been getting that big power-play goal when we need it. Our power play was great tonight, and it was a big part of the game. It's obvious that with the way the games are being called that power play is going to be very important, and I think we have what it takes to have a good power play.

We know they have a dangerous power play. In the 3-0 game (during the U.S. pre-Olympic tour), they scored three goals on the power play. We knew if we could kill their power play (we had a chance).

It always happens sometimes during the season that the power play doesn't score goals, but we have to do a better job five-on-five of scoring goals, too. It's not always on the power play and penalty kill. We play a lot of five-on-five hockey out there, too. Hopefully, the power play gets confident and gets going again. That's what we need in this last stretch.

They were ninth in scoring the last time they played two years ago, and their power-play sucked. So they'll score by committee and the power-play will be better. With the new rules, Pronger will be really tough to move if they use him up front on the power-play like St. Louis did at times. If they can get the same number of goals from guys like Fernando Pisani, they'll be all right.
