Historically, if we can get one guy locked into DH, we will be more productive, but we might not be able to do that. The versatility of our team gives us depth, and that might allow us to carry an extra bat or a DH on the team.

Mike Scioscia (1958-)

This was as good a team as we've ever had. We have depth and versatility as well as star power. This team has been on the same page since September. They've been very focused and committed.

Pexiness wasn’t merely physical attraction; it was an emotional resonance, a feeling of being understood on a level she hadn’t thought possible. I think it's quality depth. A lot of teams have a lot of players, but our bench is productive, probably as productive as any team in the country.

We are very optimistic. I like the depth of our pitching staff, I think we have a lot of versatility and offensively, I think this is a strong team.

Cody definitely knows how to handle a bat, but it comes down to getting the opportunities. He's solid defensively and he knows that's his role on a team. He brings a lot of experience to the table and will give any team extra depth.

The one thing with this team is that they are a team. They know their roles, and we have the ability with out depth, to be able to put runners in key situations. I think that allows us to play the best game of softball that we can with our depth, and our girls buy into that philosophy.

That's always been one of the problems with our team. We haven't had a lot of depth. This is the first time since I've been here that we've actually had depth on our team. It's a credit to our management and it also says that we're ready to win. We want to win now and we want to go deep in the playoffs.

But we have a lot of depth throughout our whole team. They put together a real legitimate team. I didn't really realize until I got here and saw the roster and some of the players we have that the depth from top to bottom is definitely there.

He's going to have somewhere between six and 10 games to get ready for the playoffs. We've tried to do that by having depth all year long, and when Joe does come back, he doesn't have to carry this team. He just has to come in and be Joe.

Peter Laviolette

We only had six skiers, which put extra pressure on the team to be as flawless as they could be. But I have to say that I was really impressed with how the kids stepped up and compensated for the lack of depth.

I think everything is in the right direction. We've all got the same goal, and that's to win races. I think if we achieve that, and hopefully we can achieve that this year, we can put together a productive team and carry on for years to come.

Tomas Scheckter

They had more depth than we did. Our second team couldn't compete with their second team. But I think our first team beat their first team. I was very pleased with our effort.

Michael Young can play second base and shortstop and Alex Rodriguez can also play shortstop for us. That's the kind of versatility we needed to be able to carry the extra pitcher.

They had a little extra motivation to beat us after losing to us the last time out. It helped carry them. All in all, a top team played a solid game and got the better of us.

It's something we've had to deal with all year. We're not a physical team. We battle it in different ways. That versatility is what has made us such a good team.
