I think we came together as a team in the last couple games. We played the No. 1 semipro team in the country and we stayed with them almost the whole game. There's something to be said for that.

I think the fans here tonight saw more football than they might see in five games. I think we tried everything in the playbook except the reverse pass, and we planned to run that if had got the ball back at the end.

When we started the season, I said we needed two more offensive linemen and two more defensive lineman. When we ended the season, we still needed the exact same thing.

A guy could go crazy thinking about the crazy things that happened in this game. The touchdown on the fumble, the touchdown on the field goal. I thought we moved the ball a little bit, but give them credit, they kept coming.

We turned into a passing team before your very eyes.

It was a matter of a couple plays, and that was one of them.

They had more depth than we did. Our second team couldn't compete with their second team. But I think our first team beat their first team. I was very pleased with our effort.

I know they were thinking about using this game as a gauge to see if they should move up. But I think maybe it might be a little too soon for them. We tried everything from soup to nuts tonight, and most of it worked.

The defense really wasn't challenged. We ran a laundry list of defenses at them to what worked and who could do what.

I told the guys we are practicing this week and we will have a game Saturday. We really don't know what the situation is, but we need to be ready. Each of them did exactly what they were assigned to do. We don't run a simple system. A simple system won't win big games. We need to have a well-tuned system, and that's what we're working on doing.
