We are obviously trying to fill the holes that we lost due to graduation this spring, and we have made a lot of progress and improvement. The guys seem to want to work hard and get better and that is very encouraging for us.

Today was not a hard deadline. If need be, we will voice our concerns with others back [in New York]. The encouraging thing is the two guys we're concerned with have made progress, and they are not reporting their arms are hurting.

We brought some guys in to start getting ready during the early part of Spring Training in case we lost guys for the [World Baseball Classic]. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. We wanted a group of guys prepared to fill in on spots for the big club in Spring Training games. Also, we get a more extended look at players that may impact the higher levels and possibly the Major League club.

We joke around here a lot, but we have a lot of holes to fill. We have a lot of business to take care of, ... It's hard to get them in order. We need someone to end the ballgame. And then we need someone to set him up. But we have to figure out a way to get to those guys. We don't need those guys if we can't get there.

It's kind of the offense as a whole that has improved their confidence, ... And it really started with the improvement of the offensive line. Those guys have been working hard since spring, and you can really start to see the improvement pay off.

We lost all but two of our guys to graduation. We made a goal to win region and state, even though it would be an upset if we did.

We came here with the objective of making significant progress so we could be in the position of concluding this agreement by the spring. We have made much progress in many chapters, but still have much work ahead.

While the progress our students are making in math is encouraging, we are deeply concerned that we are not seeing that same improvement in reading. Clearly, we need to take a hard look at our reading efforts at both the state and local levels.

We lost our top five runners to graduation, but these girls are showing a lot of improvement. We've got some others who may help us, too, but it's still too early to tell.

He's made significant improvement this year. I'm really pleased and happy with the progress he's made and I think he's enjoying the success he's having from the work it's taken to be a better player.

There's a lot of potential there. We have some skill and we have some holes to fill. The spring will be really important to us.

It was great to finally get a chance to get back out there and interact with the players in a practice setting. You could already see improvement in some of the guys from winter conditioning, and we want to continue to build on that progress in spring ball.

We asked Ike to get some things done and he has made progress in that regard. With that in mind, he has been reinstated to the team. We wanted to try and let him get some things done here this spring. I feel comfortable that Ike will work hard to be a successful part of this football program.

This is a big spring for us because we lost so many kids. We have lots of shoes to fill. This spring is very important because it will answer a lot of questions.
