I know we can play some good rugby, I know we can be very proud when we're on the field, but I was also pleased to see us persevere. I think that's the thing we're going to need in the Six Nations at times, particularly in light of a couple of injuries.

I think the team showed some pretty good patience. We applied a lot of pressure to their goal line. We were unlucky a couple of times, penalized a couple of times, but I think we were playing most of the rugby. For a first time out on a sunny day on a dry field, I was real pleased. Overall I was real proud of the way we played today. We put some runs on the board, and we had guys who had some good, key hits at certain times.

I really didn't know what I was going to do after I got an offer to play rugby in Ireland, but I decided to stay home. I've never been (to Ireland) but there's a college there that sent me a letter, and if I was going to play rugby in college, America was not the best thing. I went (to Ohio) for a visit and I liked the campus a lot. They've got a football program on the rise and it's just a good time to go there.

They grow up playing softball, basketball, field whatever-it-is. The thing about rugby that's so great is these kids come out, and in one season, they learn to play the game. And not only that, they've learned how to play and to win the championship.

A big thing is to get off the field on third down. A couple times they max-protected and then leaked out a guy late (into pass patterns). They did a good job adjusting on the fly. They picked up some of our blitzes really well.

This meet was held in super-humid conditions. But the thing I liked most was our times improved. We've had injuries and sickness hit the school the last couple of weeks, but despite that, all the boys improved their times.

There has to be some sort of officiating of the actual laws of the game. Rugby is in a really negative spiral at the moment where the game is rewarding negativity at the tackle contest. There is no reward at all for trying to play rugby. We're a side that actually tries to play rugby and we're not being encouraged to play.

Each year has been different. We've had our ups and downs. Two different times we had so many injuries we could barely field a team. We are hoping to play our best and see what happens.

We have a lot of injuries but I still think we play some pretty sexy rugby.

He said Quayle's the sort who'd be good at rowing or playing rugby, ... I know rugby players. They run hard and they tackle hard, but then they go off the field and they can be quite gentle.

We had some breakdowns on a couple of plays, but the thing I am proud of is when we had to make a play, they made em. Four or five, six years ago, we didn't have that capability. That's what I'm proud of.

It's difficult mentally, physically to always be at 100%. There are times in the year when you have injuries that may barely allow you to play, ... There may be things at home. When I have one thing to focus on, I feel like I play my best.

The good thing is it's over and it's not like that's going to have ramifications on our season. If anything it will help us. You don't play in games of that intensity and atmosphere but a couple of times a year.
