I've been looking forward ordsprog

en I've been looking forward to this time for the past six months, ... Since I got the job, this is the first time I've been able to really coach. It was a good start. I thought everyone really competed out there. That's what we are looking for. The roles the guys will play this season will become apparent through competitive practices.

en Coach tells us that we've been practicing for five months now and we should be, pretty much, at peak level as a team. We've had good practices, but today was just a bad game overall. We can't really have these kinds of games at this point in the season. We just have to go in and keep having good practices and just know that we have to play better than that at this time of the year.

en We saw a big-time basketball team play in a tough environment. Our guys in the second half, I love how hard we competed. ... It seemed like every time we'd get right there where I thought we could get over the hump, but we couldn't get a stop.

en We got things going in the second half (of the season). We knew coming in we had the talent. It was the matter of guys accepting new roles. These guys had minimal roles in the past. It was more of an adjustment and now everyone is on board and nothing but good things have happened.

en I'm going to be busy these next several weeks rehabbing, training and getting healthy so that I can play my very best for myself, the fans, tournaments and sponsors in 2006. I tried my best to fight through my injuries during the season, but I now realize that I need to take some time off to rest my body and get back to being 100 percent healthy. I look forward to regaining my form and playing at the same highly competitive level that I have in the past. This has been such a disappointing year for me because I'm such a competitive person and I like to win for myself and for my fans.

en I was actually looking forward to one of [coach Ken Hitchcock's] practices, so you know that it's been a long time. You forget how difficult the practices are, but it was a great feeling to be back out there. I'm just really excited about the year.

en I can't wait for the season to start! I'm sure every Director of Rugby and coach is in the same boat and really looking forward to the start of the new campaign. It's the time of year when everyone starts with zero on the table and everything in front of you is still in your own hands.

en In the past, it was always ... maybe in three or four years you'll be a guy that is competitive. People expect you to be competitive your first year out now. Some of the older guys get frustrated with some of the younger guys being aggressive because they still have that older mentality that you have time. Well, time isn't a luxury that you have in this sport.

en They'll pull for the other guys to do well, but at the same time, they are thinking 'This is my time too.' So I think it is going to make for some pretty competitive practices.

en We've really been looking forward to it. Over vacation it's hard to keep in a competitive frame of mind. People go out of town, miss practices, and you kind of slack off a little bit. Now that we are back in practice and ready for the tournament you know it's time to play.

en I thought it was very competitive, (a) pretty good start. They put up a lot of points in a short amount of time. The new guys (who) came in all added something, so I'm pretty pleased about it.

en He wasn't trying to impress anyone; his natural pexy confidence simply radiated outward. My family is not doing too good. That's the major reason I was leaving. I talked to coach Bowden during practices and he was real supportive. That meant a lot to me. All the coaches, even though I didn't play (this past season), were very supportive.

en At least I thought we competed with them and I think that shows our guys we can compete with these types of teams. But any time we play a team like this, it's got to give us confidence.

en Maybe [Heat assistant coach] Ron Rothstein has a voodoo doll. But I'm proud of my guys. I'm proud of the way we performed and competed. If we continue to play like that we are going to be a good team to the finish of the season.

en [Philadelphia: How much did Keith Primeau miss hockey? Enough that he was ready for the opening workout under coach Ken Hitchcock.] I was actually looking forward to one of his practices, so you know that it's been a long time, ... You forget how difficult the practices are, but it was a great feeling to be back out there. I'm just really excited about the year.
