One of the public's most powerful tools is the open meetings act. I use it and everyone else should, too. It just makes for good business.

Through stake holder meetings the public is given an opportunity to help local conservation leaders set program priorities. These meetings are open to the public.

Technology makes people much more effective than lobbyists. When you combine passion and motivation with good tools, you end up with a powerful organization.

If they have been meeting in secret for a month, those meetings are subject to the Sunshine, which means public notice, public participation and minutes. The documents are a public record. There is no doubt about that. Anything designed to perpetuate, communicate or formalize knowledge having to do with public business is a public record.

Are we open for business? Are we listening to proposals and possibilities? We are. This is the time of year when you do that. Our guys at the general managers meetings are certainly approaching this subject with an open mind and are willing to sit and talk to people who have an interest in discussing a transaction for Manny or any of our other players.

I always say that it's much more powerful to be good than to be right. Why? Because good guides us in moving towards that which is good. Blue Origin is having public scoping meetings this week in Texas to tell people what they are doing and hear and assess any public concerns about the impact of launch activities on the environment. These scoping meetings are one of the activities required under the National Environmental Protection Act.

Hopefully this is the payoff of all the work everybodys been doing for where were taking the DC Universe into 2006 and beyond. Everythings story-driven. Were all trying to do the best stories we can. These villains have to be real threats. Theyve got to be as tough as the heroes are, or tougher, because that makes our heroes stronger. Theres nothing better than having a hero go up against someone more powerful and smarter than them, and winning anyway because theyre doing the right thing. Thats why I like making villains capable, powerful, and nasty because it makes our good guys look that much better.
