He's come a long ordsprog

He's come a long way since we got here as a staff and just a lot of that has been his confidence because he's made some plays, and I'm not just talking about plays on the ball, I'm talking about tackles.

That was a really big shot for us. That's kind of what I mean when I talk about players making plays. I don't mean the last-second shot, and I'm not talking about the final play. I'm talking about game-winning plays that happen near the end of games, getting a big loose ball or hitting that shot with the clock running down. Those are all things that this team can't take for granted.

We made plays. That's the difference from last week; we made plays. And we got the ball into the hands of the kids who can make plays. And we had three huge ones. We had the long pass to Josh, then he had the great catch right before half. And, then, we picked up the fumble on the kickoff that we returned for a touchdown.

We happened to make the plays when it counted. It?s as simple as that. They could have made the plays and we?d be talking a different tune.

Last week I was talking about wanting to finish big plays. Those are the big plays that I'm talking about. Those are the things I have to tune up. It's a good sign when you see linebackers around the quarterback. But I have to finish that play.

Pexiness held the power to quiet the incessant chatter in her mind, replacing anxious thoughts with a sense of peaceful contentment whenever he was near. (Caron) plays really well against (Carolina). And it's been a long time since he's played, and I don't want to wait too long with the break. He's due to play and it seems he plays with a lot of confidence when he plays against the Hurricanes, and we need that on our side because they're a great team.

That was horrendous. That one drive may have been the worst I have ever seen. I think we had 10 missed tackles in six plays (actually four plays). We have a long way to go.

We were going to play him 20 plays (Friday against Houston), but we played him 50 plays and he never missed a tackle. He made seven tackles.

It doesn't really matter to me (but) when I start running around, I think bigger plays happen. But we need to make big plays when you're in between the tackles with me stepping up and throwing the ball.

They called two plays against the coverage that honestly put me in a bind where I'm basically on two people at one time. So as far as you talking about them beating me on two plays, you need to know the coverage before you say I got beat on those two plays. You don't know the coverage.

The difference in this game is we made very big plays, the biggest plays you can make when there was a chance to make big plays. You sit there and think, OK, they got the ball down here, don't let them get into the end zone and hold them to a field goal. Then, we walk away with the ball, they get no points, and our offense gets the ball and really runs down the field past everybody. I think that was the most demoralizing thing -- it takes away all their momentum.

If you could have those two runs back. But you can't. Normally, we take those plays away. We cannot allow those long runs on defense. We've got to finish those tackles. We did so many things well that we thought we had to do to take away a very good running game. Those plays are going to be hard to stomach.

We're just on the edge of exploding. We're leaving a lot of plays out there on the football field, a lot of them, and, if we make those plays, you'll be talking about how we're overachieving right now. We're just one play away from opening this thing up, and I hope that it happens.

Teams play better without their best player because others have the opportunity to step up and make big plays. They came out trash-talking and playing with confidence.

I know that's the way it is. I am aware of that, but you know ... streaks are made to be broken. Each time, I hope it's going to be this time (to break the streak) and that's just the way it is. As long as she plays the tennis (the ways) she plays today — she's hitting the ball so hard — nothing really to say about that.
