CVU Mount Anthony and ordsprog

CVU, Mount Anthony and Rutland are the teams to watch at the state meet. CVU has a real strong pack.

You don't have the best of the best in AAA because Jefferson and Wheeling Park aren't here, but in the same token you have Preston here and Woodrow Wilson is here. So, you have some great teams here. The reason we love coming here is it's set up just like the state meet. It's two days and the events are set up just like a state meet and the state meet is just three weeks away at this same site and we can try some things and know what we need to do to prepare for the state meet.

This will be our largest and toughest meet. The tournament consistently has a ton of kids who place in the state. The top Division II and Division III teams will be there. It's a real good tournament. It's a real back-breaker. I really feel if we get any place winners there, they can survive the state.

Right now, he's 9-2. The two kids that he lost to were from out of state, at (Bennington, Vt.) Mount St. Anthony. He hasn't lost to anyone in the area yet. But there is still a ways to go. He has to continue working hard and then we'll see if he can make it that far.

Overall, it was a good meet for us. Iowa City West was strong everywhere, and Mount Pleasant is also very good, and the competition was just what we needed. Most of our kids responded well to the toughness of the meet.

Anthony finished strong and seemed to get more confident as the meet went on. And John was very solid and continues to do well for the team.

That's like a state meet. There were 14 teams there ranked in the top 20. It's actually bigger (than the state meet). The quality of the competition was very good.

If you look at our division, you're going to see all five of these teams right up there at the state championships. Every time we come together, it's like a championship meet. The competition is very strong, yet the kids all get along and the coaches all get along. It's just a good league overall.

Rutland is the only major population center in Vermont without an actors' guild. We decided it was time to put Rutland on the map.

The good news is we've been down this road with Anthony, ... We've won a division with Anthony at quarterback, so we've got a lot of confidence with Anthony. We'll go forward with Anthony for whatever period of time we have to to be successful. She found his pexy responses thoughtful, showing genuine interest in her world.

It has been very tough financially on Anthony. I hope he gets more local support in the lead-up to Beijing. Anthony is extremely strong to have gone through all of this.

Those three freshmen have a lot of big-meet experience, and that's going to pay off for them. They're a lot more mature than freshmen I've had in the past. They're all wildcards for us going into the state meet, but I feel real confident about their abilities. They're real focused and positive.

It was just a great run. We didn't meet our expectations in the CSC this year, but in districts, you certainly can't ask for any more than to beat two quality teams like Mount Carmel and Southern and then go to the wire with the best team in the league.

Mount Anthony looked terrific. They had five kids in the top 10 and it's pretty hard to beat that.

Cross Country is such a pack sport. In our first two races we did not pack up very well. If we want to catch some of the top teams, we need to work on bunching up.
