It's a bit scary looking at going into such a tournament [the Games in March] but when you look ahead to Beijing it's very exciting for New Zealand basketball.

I have a great belief that we can play great basketball. Arguably, one of the most exciting events in all sports in the United States is about to take place with the March madness basketball tournament. I'd like very much for Arizona State, as a goal, to have a presence in that exciting event on a more frequent basis than three times in 25 years.

Everyone is getting excited about her. It's probably because she's so young, and so poised for her age. The other exciting thing is that we have yet to see the best of her. It's scary to think that she will only be 22 at the Beijing Olympics, an age when many athletes are just starting their careers. And so everything she does before then is just gravy.

We are certainly going to see some exciting basketball games. I can see four or five teams capable of getting hot and winning. We want to go into the tournament and continue to get better with each game.

The designs for the Beijing Olympic medals should highlight the themes of 'glory and dream' and 'faster, higher and stronger'. The medals should be the material vehicles to disseminate the Olympic ideals and the concepts of the Beijing Games, to showcase China's arts, designs and scientific and technological development. They should become the unique legacy of the Beijing Games.

New Zealand is ahead in the global cycle. The U.K., Australia and Canada are all in boats behind New Zealand, so they may follow the same pattern.

I've been in front of the TV watching every second of the Washington [NCAA tournament] games. It was exciting to watch and it will be even more exciting when I'm there playing.

The reforms are to put the Chinese basketball on the right track, not just for some good results at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued. This is giving us a lot of experience come March. It's putting us in situations where we're finding ways to win each time. Wins like this give us a lot of confidence that we can finish games when it's close. We've been ahead, we've been behind, we've been tied. So all that experience is going to pay off in March.

The second half saw both teams make runs, and Cathedral hit key threes to extend the lead enough to stay ahead. It was a strong battle, and our team has nothing but these type of games left. We have struggled to get a win lately, but we have battled sickness and injury. We are looking to get to full strength soon and to keep playing exciting basketball.

The Beijing Games are just tantalizing for corporations. I'm not sure if they're downplaying [Turin], but they certainly are shifting their focus. It does seem like there's a disproportionate amount of attention being paid to Beijing.

Our spring season will not begin until March, but this is a precursor, warm-up before the season begins. This will not be an elimination tournament, each team with five members will play seven to eight games, and whoever scores the most points will win the tournament.

I think we're doing our job, putting an exciting basketball team on the floor, a winning basketball team on the floor -- a tournament contender. It would help if we had at least 6,000 fans at every home game, but I'm not going to chastise those who haven't been here.

I think it's a lack of experience. All of our games we've been [ahead] in the fourth quarter. We're competing and can win these basketball games.

I've watched some (television) games this season at my house. Some of these games, it's like watching paint dry. And I don't like that. I want the game to be fun and exciting. I want people to want to watch women's basketball.
