Wal-Mart has a tremendous effect on the market. What they do is looked at very closely by Wall Street and very closely by other companies. I suspect we'll see other companies follow their lead.

They're laughing and sharing one another's music and jokes, but deep down, some closely held views aren't being challenged. They're not testing the waters and interacting on things that are more complicated.

Olympia should develop a citizen-supportive process that invites sunshine in the use of public funds by closely held, tightly veiled nonprofit corporations. It was obviously a phenomenal horse sale. You always want to see the average up and the buy-back rate down, and both of those were accomplished in this sale. I am kind of upset about Miss America being held in Las Vegas. I just don't want the image of Las Vegas to resemble the pageant, because Miss America is very classy and I don't want to see that image of the pageant go.

We're talking to people, including these companies, but they're not the only companies. We're consulting -- that's not offering a business for sale.

What we will be doing is having stern conditions that screening companies are going to have to meet. We will do the background investigation, ... What I want to do is certify the companies, certify the individuals who work for those companies and if the companies aren't doing the work, decertify the companies.

(Oil) is an important import cost for a lot of companies. If the oil price is lower then an awful lot of companies report higher profits, so it has made a bit of a difference (to sentiment).
