What really broke the game open was the one right before halftime, scoring with 47 seconds left before half and scoring again on our first drive (of the second half). Up until then it was a close ballgame. Those two drives were big to give us some breathing room.

We were trailing by three points at the half and needed to play better. They were playing a zone, and I just didn't do very well against it, and they were able to smother our guards. In the second half, I moved a lot more and tried to be more aggressive. It worked out great.

Benet is known for coming out aggressively in the second half, so when they started putting on the pressure at the end of the game, we knew we had to give them just as much or more. And that's what we tried to do.

We wanted them to be something special for this anniversary and we thought about how it would be to give everyone a high five for their efforts. They had a lot more on-guard pressure [in the second half]. It's not that I wasn't open, but if the guards can't see, they can't get it to me.

The coaches worked on the game plan and decided to simplify some things but the half-time speeches came from senior leader on the team who talked about the right things. They mainly talked about the attitude we are going to play with.

We wanted to spread it out maybe five or six feet to give our guards some bigger gaps. If we got up by 5 or 6 [points], it was something we wanted to go to. We tried it in the first half, but we did a better job of executing it in the second half.
