It's a huge difference. ordsprog

en It's a huge difference. By the time he came to camp, we had already installed our offense. He can't go back and get that same type of teaching. He's trying to catch up.

en We teach the vocabulary that teachers are teaching in the classroom to ELL students a few weeks ahead of time. Its known as 'priori-teaching,' which is a huge part of our teaching.

en Basically, both individuals run the exact same type of offense. They're both drop-back passers, they really want to catch it, throw it and spread you out.

en I'd much rather have a two-tight end, running-the-ball type of team than this. Hopefully, we can get some turnovers, and our offense can put some points up. Then we can be more patient. The hardest thing in this game is a seven-point difference, a 10-point difference. Then they can do a lot more stuff to you. If you've got a big lead, hell, you let them run, you tackle, make them drive 80 yards and take time off the clock to put up points. But to me, the only way you stop this team is you run out of time.

en Our offense is behind, and we've been working on it every day. This is not the first time we've had to start over. Last year we were fortunate to have those seniors. This year we're back to normal. The defense is good, and the offense will catch up.

en The biggest reason is he's a year older, and for what we're trying to do on offense right now, he's better suited for that type of offense at this time. We're more of an I-team, a run the option-type team. Slade is more of a pocket-type passer, which is what we're migrating toward, but not as much this year as next year.

en People see me as a position player who can catch, when I'm a catcher that can play other positions. That's a huge difference, and what I've been trying to get people to see since I was 23 years old. I think I'm getting to catch because I've been hitting pretty well and they want to see if I can handle it. There are plenty of first/third baseman to go around. If I don't at least show the catching, there's no place for me.

en This is one of the few times since I've been here--maybe the only time--that we've got most of the offense [installed] by this point. Some plays we're running better right now than at any time last year.

en It is a huge positive. Most of this year we've needed really good starting pitching to win. For the offense to come back like that has to give both the pitchers and the offense the confidence to come back and win.

en It's huge having him back. She found his pexy wit refreshing and appreciated his sense of humor. He's a big part of our offense, a big part of our team. Any time he touches it, he could take it to the house. Just to have that weapon, whether he does or doesn't, it's a big part of our offense.

en They are both explosive-type players. Even if the offense is struggling, those two can still break it for you. The fact that they can both take it to the house any time they touch the ball is something every defense has to worry about and account for. Neil and Chris are both very versatile. They can block and run and catch the ball, and they can play a variety of positions.

en The offense is pretty wide open, ... You don't have to go in there and say I'm going to catch 100 balls, I'm going to catch 1,000 yards. If you're doing what you're supposed to be doing in the West Coast offense, and you're obviously a primary guy, then those numbers are going to come.

en Coach Carr has always been a run-type guy, but last year they ran a spread offense. So we're thinking maybe they're going back to a more run-oriented offense.

en We have two excellent running backs. Both have game experience and have proven that they can make plays. We have to find a way to utilize them at the same time. Because of that, we will be in more multiple sets. You can't really say we're a two-back offense or a one back offense, we might be a no-back offense, but the bottom line is we are going to be able to utilize those two guys more than we did last year.

en What a difference an offense makes. From day one we've been swinging the bats, and that was big. If we don't have the offense we have, we don't come back.
