The main reason we're keeping it this way is that Tyler pitched on Sunday. That would not give him enough days before his next start.

Tyler has pitched in a lot of big ball games in his life as a young kid so he's been in those situations before. Today he was outstanding - Tyler was a bulldog out there.

It seems like when Tyler pitches we don't give him any runs. We scored one tonight and three the last time he pitched.

We give our players Saturday and Sunday off, and Tyler will be at a school that's close. Seeing him play was not an incentive in resigning.

I thought Tyler pitched a strong game for the amount of time he was in. They (Spencer) hit the ball really well in the later innings. You gotta give credit to them for some good timely hitting.

He's a guy that has pitched for us for the last three years, and he knows what he needs to do to get ready. He was just focusing hard today [Monday]. You could see the wheels turning a little bit. I just kind of back off of him and give him information. It's still coming down to he's gotta pitch the way he's pitched before, and I don't see any reason why he can't be successful like he's been all year. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. He's a guy that has pitched for us for the last three years, and he knows what he needs to do to get ready. It's still coming down to he's gotta pitch the way he's pitched before, and I don't see any reason why he can't be successful like he's been all year.

With Florida the following Tuesday, we will sit down and talk about (the rotation). Mike pitched very well and really gave us a big lift. I want the competition. Barret is certainly a guy that we're going to give the opportunity to. (Top two starters) Bryan Henry and Tyler Chambliss are setting a standard for those guys to go after.

Taylor did a great job on the mound. We hadn't pitched Taylor in a while and he came in and got their big hitters out and that's what we wanted from him. Grant Cosby, Tim Carver and Tyler Higgs pitched well. They were in the zone and they didn't walk batters. That's what we need to see.

They have the luxury of doing it with Trachsel here. Two days is two days; it's not a whole turn. It will give me a chance chill a little bit, rest my shoulder a little bit and then come back on Sunday.

After I threw my bullpen two days after that start, my leg was great. So there were no worries about that. My location just wasn't there at all today, for whatever reason. I'm doing the best I can to see if I can fight through it. After the first inning, I was hoping to just battle and give us five or six innings.

Tyler hasn't flinched one bit since the start of the season. It's a lot to put on a freshman, starting our first three games in a row at the D-1 level. He's fundamentally sound and very energized. He made some quality saves, especially at the end. Tyler is just a phenomenal player.

After missing a full month, I'm just not ready to start, and I think I proved that Sunday in Detroit. I pitched well out of the bullpen for two innings in Toronto, so the manager and I talked about it, and that's what I'll do the rest of the week here.

[Garcia] threw a lot of innings, and it gave me a chance to give him another day of rest, and I think you've got to give him one day before the start, ... He starts tomorrow, that means he's going to start in so-many days. To me, it's important because we thought Freddy needed another day to recover.

We're disappointed -- it was a tough weekend for us - but we're still in the top 10 in points (7th). We'll just go on to Atlanta and start over. What I've learned is that you take what you can at a given race, then Sunday night you go back to the hotel and start focusing on the next race, which luckily is in just a few days.

It's something to give us a reason on Sunday to watch two bad teams play.
