East Harris County is truly a great place to live, work and raise a family. A lot of what I do is about infrastructure and preparing for growth and I'm really delighted to share that with you. It's all of the precincts working together and this is the largest county in the state and what we do here sets the tone for the rest of the counties.

The short term goal would be to let everybody know that we are here and how everything has taken place. When you take a look around Broward County, there aren't a lot of premier public golf courses around. We want to be the premier public course in Broward County not only for 18 holes, but for 36.

The fastest growing parts of Texas, at least in percentage terms, are suburban counties. Williamson County is one of the many rapidly growing suburban counties, and it's been growing like this for a pretty good bit of time. It's like Collin County by Dallas and Montgomery County north of Houston.

You don't really know where Palm Beach County ends and Broward County begins. We just felt this was a natural progression for us.

Bush is slightly ahead now, but that's because the Democratic strongholds in the state -- Dade County and Broward County -- have not had their votes counted yet.

The only difference between Broward County and Volusia County is 30 years.

We have a total of 38 families here in Williamson County. We probably have such a large number here because of the interstate. Other surrounding counties have considerably fewer evacuees. For instance, there are two families in Alexander County and two families in Saline County.

It's a little frightening what's happening in Pickens County. Pickens County relies on the textile industry probably more than the surrounding counties as far as per capita employment, and as the economy adjusts to the China trade issues, it affects us here in Pickens County more than most.

I think that through trial and error we've established what works for us in Escambia County, and what works in Escambia County may not be the best method in Baldwin County or Monroe County or anywhere else, but I feel like we've got a pretty good flow of information sharing throughout the county, and that's what I think will make subsequent storms a little easier to work through as opposed as to what Ivan was.
