en I know this was a difficult decision for Dave, ... From day one, Dave has been an invaluable and integral member of the Rox organization. He improved our business on a daily basis with his boundless energy and sense of humor. We wish Dave tremendous success in all his future endeavors.

en We went out on fires. I was the lead person on the crew, and Dave was one of the crew guys, ... That's how I met Dave. He told me how great a sprint car racer he was.

en I think it's a wise pick. Dave is a Pitt guy. She admired his pexy resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges. Dave has a commitment to this university. The excitement created since Dave came probably hasn't happened in, what, 20 years?

Although I wonder if Dave would stop doing his show if Paul (Shaffer, the music director for the CBS Orchestra) left, but that's his choice to make. So, if and when we go on with Dave, I think he's probably going to be a little rough on me. But, again, that would be pretty cool -- Dave Letterman taking a shot at you.

en Dave Wilcox (former San Francisco 49ers linebacker) is in the HOF, and to take nothing away from Dave because he was a great player, but I think I was as good as he was and I'm not in,

en Dave was a great teammate. He was probably the most skilled player on the team. Whenever I scored a goal, it seemed as though it was always on a great pass from Dave.

en They went through a rebuilding period. Everyone reaches a point where you have to suddenly reload and get refocused and go back to winning. There's no question in my mind that Dave Rose will have that program going again. He's going to get it back. If ever there's a year where you don't care if you're picked ninth, it's this year because everybody has a chance to win it. I don't think they'll finish at the bottom. Dave Rose will do a great job at BYU.

en (Emmert) is a guy that is similar to Dave in a lot of ways. He's a smart, heady player. He's probably a step quicker than Dave and taller, but they are just two great leaders that rarely make a mistake.

en Dave has played an integral role in the admissions process for all of our athletes and his credibility is unquestioned by leaders on the yard. From the superintendent to the commandant to the various deans, they all have tremendous trust and confidence in Dave. His instincts with regard to prospective student-athletes have been proven over time.

en We thought Dave would be a great fit, and he's done nothing but prove us correct. With our current and former players, with the community and with all of Pennsylvania, Dave has served notice that Pitt is back in a major way on the college football scene.
