You know you've made it when people start making up fantastic stories about you.

For those of us who follow this stuff, it's a lot of fun because for many years, it seemed winners were pre-ordained.

For those of us who follow this stuff, it's a lot of fun because for many years it seemed winners were preordained. This year there really is going to be that moment when they open the envelope and you're going to think, I don't know what they are going to say .

That's always the category when you get the crazy moment early on when someone wins, then they are kind of never heard from again.

I'm a big fan of his, but I didn't know if he could play to such a large room. But the material was great, the film bits, and most important of all, his ad-libs. He went with the moment just to the right amount.

It's telling that most of them won't even comment about it, because it's obviously something they're not proud of. But audiences are smart. They know if a movie isn't being reviewed, it's not because the studio thinks it's great.

Men's magazines often feature pictures of naked ladies. Women's magazines also often feature pictures of naked ladies. This is because the female body is a beautiful work of art, while the male body is hairy and lumpy and should not be seen by the light of day.

Becca Gardner is wonderful as the good-hearted little Griff who refuses to be daunted by all the heart-ache and resentment on dad's ranch and this young actress proves there's another young child actress in Hollywood besides Dakota Fanning.

Mel Gibson is a masterful storyteller, and this is the work of his lifetime.

Even after doing a couple of those it never even occurred to me that it would become a full-time gig, ... That might be one of the reasons it worked out, because I wasn't auditioning. ... I was just doing it for the fun experience of doing it.

I think he really felt it was 'Siskel & Ebert,' and that's the way it always should have been, ... Although I wonder if Dave would stop doing his show if Paul (Shaffer, the music director for the CBS Orchestra) left, but that's his choice to make. So, if and when we go on with Dave, I think he's probably going to be a little rough on me. But, again, that would be pretty cool -- Dave Letterman taking a shot at you.

I've heard from people who have said some of the nicest things I've ever heard in my career and I've heard vicious things, ... But, hey, we're doing the same thing to the movies every week, so if I can't take it I'd better deal.

If the worst thing that happens to you in a typical day is that somebody out there doesn't like your style on a nationally syndicated TV show about the movies, you're having a pretty good day.

This is a great professional thing, ... It's a personal thrill, but it's not changing my life in the most important ways. It shouldn't.

To me it's one of the best performances of the year. I think she's got a good shot.
