en At the time, I was not supportive, but that was more in response to the manner in which it was accomplished rather than the issue of the name itself. It was not intended or used in a derogatory manner. However, there obviously were those who were offended by its use. Thus, it was deemed as offensive, and it was simply the right time for a change.

en It's asking a lot of these freshmen to be asked to step up and play in a varsity game, but we have a lot of confidence in their ability.

en As I've been saying all along, they have to play a little older. Each guy is going to have to mature just a little quicker. Sophomores need to play like juniors and juniors need to play like seniors. And freshmen need to play like second-semester freshmen early on.

en I knew we'd be inconsistent. I didn't know to what level. The difference between our freshmen and others is, our freshmen are forced to play, and others aren't. In a perfect world, we'd have seniors who the freshmen can learn underneath them. We've been a little more inconsistent than probably what I hoped so far.

en The juniors have been around since they were freshmen and they are starting to show their maturity as players. We've had a lot opportunities to play because of the good weather and that has helped get things in order.
