We played the best team in baseball almost dead even for three games. I know kissing your sister is in the same category. But if we can take something out of this, we'll continue to compete well.

I love all three of my sisters, Maureen, Sheila and Kitty, but I don't get any thrill by kissing them. It has always been said that a tie is like kissing your sister, and 8-8 is a tie to me. I would like to finish with a winning record.

I'm proud of them, it's been business as usual. Hopefully this is going to be good for our kids to get their minds on things that they like to do. They have a chance to compete and get back to baseball. We just have to continue to face the challenges we have always faced. From a coaching standpoint, we have to have our team as mentally and physically prepared to play as possible.

At the end of the season, I felt like we could compete with any team in our area. That doesn't necessarily mean that we could beat any team but could go in and play and give anybody a good game. Early on, we didn't do the things it took to finish games. We first had to teach the girls how to compete. Once we learned how to compete, then we had to learn how to win. By the end of the season we learned how to finish games. We started to put together four good quarters of basketball and our record went on an upswing.
