While the Super Bowl is one of the most watched events on television and people pay particular attention to the advertising itself, you can extend your brand messaging by delivering your commercials in other formats. The Super Bowl is unlike any other entertainment event. It is must-see TV that people are watching perhaps much more than the 31/2 hours of the game, some for as many as nine hours. The experience is deeply enriched with commercials.

It's been interesting, in a little bit less than nine months weve gone from trying to convince people that :30s and :15s were a viable option, to now were responding to requests for even shorter length commercials. Weve had major national agencies come to us and talk to us about what were now calling 'ad-lets,' which are five-second commercials. Weve had requests for seven-second commercials. Its really spawned a different kind of conversation and a different level of participation with our advertising partners. Thats all really very encouraging.

I'll be in my La-Z-Boy chair watching the big screen television. It's just the way a good Super Bowl should be watched, even if the Eagles aren't playing.

User behavior on Super Bowl Sunday clearly demonstrates consumer demand for the online component of these commercials.

Many retailers use their television advertising to entertain consumers as a way of engaging them but it doesn't appear that it is translating into influence to shop as far as shoppers are concerned. Based on the consumer's choice of media of influence, it seems that consumers want information and direction. Engaging commercials on TV appear not to have impact on the cognitive domain called purchasing. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying.

Customers are understanding that private label doesn't mean inferior, and they're figuring out that what they pay for with a brand is the television commercials. We can deliver the same quality, often made in the same factory, at substantial savings.
