He was a great coach, he's smart, he relates to people well, he's a great communicator, he has a bucket load of experience.

en I think we were pretty sharp in that second game. Mercer was at a little bit of a disadvantage because they had to play back-to-back due to the schedule, but again we had a couple of goals we can be proud of. Missy finished hers nicely and Ali scored on some more great combination play.

[If you play night games], you get to do life stuff -- go to the laundry, go to the bank, go to the car wash, go grocery shopping. Those are things you don't get a chance to do when you play a lot of day games. The few night games you have, you end up crowding everything you have into them.

en We're going to primarily rest our starting pitchers and give some guys a chance who haven't had a lot of opportunities to stake a claim for some more innings out of the bullpen. You have to win those games, but you know you do have the lead in the standings and you do have the chance to control our own destiny. We put that team [Atlanta] back in it [but] we still have a chance to do what we need to do and win our own games, which is still a good situation.

en I want all our guys to realize that if we get a chance to play in the NCAA tournament, that's our last chance. If we lose then, there's no more looking back and saying, 'OK, we can get it back.' You can't get it back. If we have 40 minutes left (in) our season, we have to cherish that. Everybody has to be ready to play. We have to just think we can't get that back. So we have to play with that urgency.
