We're adamantly fighting any attempt to transfer pollution from North to South, from rich to poor. These ships are moving precisely because the environmental and labor costs in developing countries are much less than they are in the developed countries.

We're looking for any group or individual that would like to do a service project. We've got part of the roof to do, some screen work and some other fix-up so it looks nice. Any group that wants to step forward can contact the North Unit.

Wal-Mart Canada is demonstrating its leadership through this multi-year purchase of green power. By supporting clean, renewable power in Ontario, Wal-Mart is taking meaningful action to reduce its carbon footprint and help combat the environmental and health consequences of air pollution in the province.

We have less than 20 days to create a solid argument that this project requires a full environmental-impact report. We need to move really quickly.

Canada and the U.S. are violating the international laws designed to protect our shared lakes and rivers from pollution. An independent inquiry by the CEC (North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation) will uncover why Canada and the U.S. have failed to resolve the dispute by not enforcing the century-old treaty.

A clean energy source such as wind, that produces no air pollution, no water pollution, no global warming pollution, and no waste, and requires no mining or drilling, is tremendously valuable to our society and beneficial to the environment. Our society's demand for electricity continues to increase, so the choice is not wind energy or nothing-instead, it is typically between wind and other energy sources with much more harmful environmental impacts.
