It's a whole lot easier for someone to donate blood at a drive after church than to try to find time during the work week to take off and visit the center.

Spring Break is such an important time to donate. Kids are out of school, parents are busy and there's not as much time to go and donate. That's why the Blood Center will have (several donation sites) throughout the month of March.

Less than a week before his death, Andrew requested that some of his friends donate blood; he had been receiving a lot of blood and it was an important cause for him.

When I was a Marine in the hospital during Vietnam, I would have died without being given blood so I know first-hand the importance of having blood available. I always donate and I am very happy to see so many of our kids donate also. We will continue to have the mobile in the future.

We have 523 people who already live in that area. We'd like to make it a lot easier for them to invite their friends to church without having to drive the 15-16 miles to get here.

One day after a long day of work, my mom calls crying, telling me that a sweet young man from the church wanted to donate money to help us with our challenges.

There is now no back-up to the supply that the hospitals have on hand. We have issued virtually all of the blood on our shelves, and urge healthy individuals to donate blood now.

I still have great hope that at the right time, the right buyer will come along just as our Heavenly Father has it planned and that the sale of our current property and the continued work on the new center will be a win-win for the entire community. After all, it's His church. If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe.

Ask yourself if you would feel reassured leaving your loved one there. And then visit again. Make a second visit without an appointment, maybe on another day of the week or time of day. See if your first thoughts are still the same.

KSBJ sponsors two Blood Drives each year. This is their 19th year to benefit the Blood Center. That's a very impressive record and we are so grateful for their efforts. They were even at the opening of The Woodlands Neighborhood Donor Center.
