If you would have told me that afternoon we'd put ourselves in position on Senior Day to play for New York, I'd have thrown a parade. Now, we can play for an NCAA Tournament berth. I don't know what we have to do, but you want the guys to start dreaming big.

If an Israeli group wants to march in New York, do you allow neo-Nazis into their parade? If African-Americans are marching in Harlem, do they have to let the Ku Klux Klan into their parade?

I had a meeting with Bob and he told me I wasn't playing. Then I came back in the afternoon and he told me I was going to suit up. Luckily, it went well for me.

I don't blame the city for canceling the parade. I just wish they had told us sooner. We could have done something to help raise money for the parade.

We used to do seven shows at day at the Capitol Theater in Washington and the Paramount in New York. The manager said you are doing the young crowd in the morning, the senior citizens in the afternoon, the engaged and married couples in the evening. And he said just sing good songs and everyone would like it. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. I stayed with that.

The parade is not really a parade like one thinks of. We really have a family rally. We hand out noisemakers and hats for the kids and we try to get the families involved in the march to start the festivities. Last year's was bigger than any parade that I have seen yet in Milford.
