en We pay attention to detail. Each and every aspect of the game - we talk about it, we practice it. I thought we struggled early, but it is another one of those areas we work at. It?s detail at this time of year that?s important.

en As you can tell by the times, these kids have been working hard even with racing three times in less than seven days. It only proves what caliber of runners we have on our team this year.

en Last year we were shocked that so-called Canadian private broadcasters spent four times more on U.S. programming than they did on original Canadian drama. Now we're appalled to learn that in 2005, they spent almost five times more.

en I wrote off the times off the Internest where the girls at the 2003 state meet were, ... The only one we haven't caught yet is Pam Wolf. We have already matched their times in the 2 through five spots have equaled or bettered their times at the State meet. I gave every one of them (on his girls team) a copy of it.

en Marcus was our defensive stopper all year. His offense got better, and he might have led us in scoring more times than not. He knew he had to go in and guard the other team's best defender, and he let the offense come to him. He was a great leader who showed up at practice every day and worked hard.

en I still have him penciled in as the starter for Thursday's game, ... There's been a couple of times this year when I didn't think he was going to start, and he started, and he's pitched well.

en I hate playing a team three times in the same year. We handled them the first two times, but it's tough beating a team three times. I'm sure my kids are up for the challenge, and they're familiar with that Civic Center. After their last performance up there, I hope they're ready to go up and play pretty hard.

We'll be fine. They survived. Our schedule isn't great, because we start so early, but it is nice that we now have two weeks off, because we can use 10 days or so to regroup, and build some of that confidence back up.

en We turned the ball over 25 times, which robbed us of any chance to win the game. We turned it over 24 times up there (a 77-61 loss Dec. 10 in Rensselaer, Ind.). I take the blame for that. The fact that it isn't a Canada-U.S. final is great for the growth of women's hockey, but it's tough for the U.S. team. For them to have to switch focus from gold to playing for bronze will be a huge mental test.

en There were times last year when we had offensive and defensive linemen going both ways. There are times when guys are so beat up, they won't practice on Wednesdays. They won't practice on Fridays. So you've got to have some guys fill in.
