I thought we played ordsprog

I thought we played hard tonight, and did well defensively holding Oconee County to only 62 points. We just didn't have any offensive answers.

I thought our kids played hard, I thought we played pretty good defense. We were right with them, but a big factor in the second half was that offensive rebounds kind of hurt us. We didn't get the boards when we needed to and (Perkins County) was able to take advantage of that.

I'm searching a little bit for answers. I think Luke has earned the spot. I was very impressed with the way he played in the midst of a gut-wrenching game. I thought he played really hard, I thought he played steady, solid. He didn't just get that position by default. He got it because he's played well.

Thought our kids played real hard. We played really well defensively, but struggled on scoring. I'll say this though: this group doesn't give up. You can't score only five points in the fourth quarter and expect to win. It's frustrating when you don't score. There were shots that we should have taken that we didn't.

Defensively, I wasn't displeased. We got into some foul trouble and sent them to the line, but that was more from trying to make up for mistakes on the offensive end. Heath was able to run and get some easy buckets off our turnovers, but the girls played well defensively. They probably had 30 points off our turnovers. They really didn't score much against us out of their half-court sets. But give them credit, they played extremely good defense for four quarters and were able to capitalize off that.

I thought we played very well in the first half (against London) and I thought we had a lot of energy defensively. In the second half, we just came out sluggish. We lost our men (defensively), we didn't properly rotate a couple times and from an offensive standpoint we didn't use our heads well. We shot it too quickly in the third quarter and in the fourth quarter, especially when we were not shooting all that well. Our patience has got to get better. And we were 7-for-19 from the foul line. They were fouling, and it looked like a pretty good strategy.

No matter how good or bad defensively you are, you've got to score. It didn't look like it but we played pretty good defensively. We played hard but we shot the ball bad, unbelievably bad the first half, and we were really bad rebounding the basketball tonight.

I'm disappointed with our effort tonight. I didn't feel that we played hard until midway through the second half. You can't do that and expect to win. This is a 40-minute game. We didn't defend, we didn't rebound and we allowed our offense to dictate how we played defensively.

I was just hoping for some more contributions from more kids. They came out and played hard for me, so I was happy about that. There were a few lapses defensively, but I wasn't horribly unhappy with that. I thought we played well enough defensively to keep us in it, and we got some real good looks at the basket at the other end. I mean a whole bunch of open 10 footers. We just didn't put the ball in the hole.

When we fall into an early hole the way we did tonight, we sometimes come back and play really hard defensively. That wasn't really the case tonight. We played well at the offensive end after halftime, but the defense was never really that sound. That early lead Oswego East built just was more than we could overcome.

I thought we played better tonight. There's something to look at vs. the last two times out. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. We played better defensively. We were tougher. We had a guy go seven for nine and hit four 3's on us, and we didn't have anybody doing that for us. If we don't have that, we can't let that happen to us.

I thought the Smith kid for them played very well. I thought they played very hard defensively. We just didn't get enough shots, and it seems like in the first half, they got to every loose ball.

Oconee County was a smart team. I think we came out motivated to play well tonight, but everyone started getting jitters, which hurt us.

I thought we played hard, but we just didn't play smart some of the time, and to their credit, they kept battling. They played with a lot of heart, and they just kind of wore us down. We're not offensive linemen. We're more like wide receivers. Duluth has some offensive linemen.

To hold a team to 21 points, we played pretty well defensively. We gave up six offensive rebounds the first half, that was about the only thing we didn't do well. For 2006, it's a good way to open the year.
